Istep 11/2020

Anyone able to shed light on whether the latest istep is a worthwhile update? It's available for our cars, but I'd have to pay to have it updated. My current istep is 7/2020

I know this is apples and oranges, but I found this in the G05 forums:

Not sure if we have this "Enhanced Integration" option on iPhone/ACP now. There's limited information on page 4 of that thread as to what people think it does.

You won't get any more integration with new software in M2.
iDrive 6 probably won't get anything new. G series with MGU and iDrive 7 is being developed and that's what matters for BMW.

I-step includes more things than just iDrive of course, things like software for DCT, MDiff, ASD, etc, etc

I'm wondering if the latest or all istep version are backward compatible? My car is Jul 17 and as far as I know, has the original factory istep software but I know there have been a number of updates since.

kubax86 , if you recall the start issue I messaged you about, do you think an updated istep could solve that problem?

You can flash to any target I STEP as long as you have the supporting SWE. Downgrade/Upgrade are both possible.
