Essex / AP Racing Brake Kit Installation Guide
I finally got around to editing and getting the video up of my Essex / AP Racing 9668/9451 installation. If you're wondering how to do this job, look no further!

Yeah, I was surprised how good Essex's instructions were! I was impressed. Sometimes it's nice to have a video to walk you through all the little nuances too.

Thx for this. Although a shop did my install I believe I've located some noise coming from the front brake line bracket.

When I installed the brake line and clip and saw how much it could rattle I had a friend hop in the cabin and then I rattled it to see if he could hear it. That's what made me make sure to zip tie it!

Can someone confirm whether this brake line retaining clip is the same as the OE clip that comes with the M2C 2NH brake package, or is it a different one that is needed for the Spiegler brake lines used on the AP Essex CP9660 kit?

The clip for the Spiegler line is not the same as the OE clip. It is a standard aftermarket type of clip that has been used for decades in brake line kits from a wide array of manufacturers. The OE clip can be reused as long as the line is secured properly in the bracket. Sometimes the clip we ship with our Spiegler lines can be a bit more difficult to install...guessing that may be why you posted. Thank you very much for purchasing our brake kit. We appreciate your support, and always let us know if you need further assistance! |

I was able to do the install this past weekend (thanks @farkle! for the great how-to video!) and the OE clip did go over the Spiegler line, although it doesn't hold as secure as the replacement clip. I have it wire-tied for now and will try to source a clip to make it 100%. Btw, first test ride with the AP was excellent. Quicker turn-in response was really noticeable at speed. |

Quick question about the 9668 brake kit. I have a brand new kit for an E9X that I never installed, sold the car and now I have an F87. I want to install this on my M2C so I can do an 18 square setup.
Seems like the only difference is the mounting bracket and brake lines. I already have SS Spiegler lines all around. Anyone know how I can purchase just the mount for the F8X? |

Shoot Essex an email, I'm pretty sure they'd sell you the bracket and lines you need.
You might need a different rotor hat too though since the offset could be different. |
