Although NA engine has better throttle response, you need to wring it out to 4000 rpm every time you want to really enjoy it and it doesn't sound as good as the old GT4 engine, that was a masterpiece. The CS engine although turbo charged is the better engine with more thrust, more of the time so you don't need to drive super hard to enjoy it.

U.K. to £100k here in the U.K. for used 6000 miles but a used CS is about £87k. Raising allocations and production for Spyder 718s woeful surely be a goldmine. I'm interested but not in picking up some rich kids 4th user Spyder with apparently 5000 miles on the clock at 2 years old and 4 owners. Lots of fishy sounding cars out there. It's tricky annoying as a BMW guy they refuse to enter certain markets properly. Roadster / dedicates coupe and M1 halo. Unless 50 years of M is about to prove me wrong (Z4M manual please and M1 hyper)

While I only had a base 981 Cayman and now drive an OG M2 (both 6mt), I can say the M2 is more fun day to day; with the Cayman being the better sport car overall.
Someone here said it, but the Cayman is much more clinical and less of a hooligan. You are rewarded by driving it neatly and nailing your lines. With the M2, I love sliding it around and riding the mid-range torque. The Cayman definitely feels lighter on its feet but the M2 still feels nimble with a great front end. The big issue with the Cayman as a daily driver (aside from being a 2 seater) is the tall gearing. If you don't have nice back roads or long stretches of straights, it's really a struggle to wind it out past 2nd gear on a daily basis. Porsche nails the inputs though... the shifter, clutch and steering are better in the Cayman. Like I said the M2 is more of a hooligan and more fun, for me, in how I use my vehicles where I live. If I lived near the canyons, or tracked my cars regularly, I might prefer the Cayman overall. YMMV. That said, I still want a GT4 or a 911

At sea level, yes. At decent altitude? It's really not enough power these days. The output of the S55 just walks it. I cross-shopped the GT350, M2CS, and GT4. All of them were great in their own ways, but at altitude those NA cars felt so much slower.

I spent GTS 4.0 money on my M2cs, yes I paid over MSRP. Although I appreciate the track prowess of the GT4, it was not even a consideration. I simply do not like driving a 2 seater.
I love Porsche as a company, they are in a league of their own in terms of engineering and build quality. Their commitment to producing a product that delivers in ways that other companies do not cannot be argued. BMW makes great cars, but does appeal to a broader demographic. To me the ///M decision has produced cars that speak to me. I have owned many BMW (8 total), most notably 2 E46 M3's, a supercharged E92 M3, and M2c (breifly) and now the the M2cs. The M2cs is a pinnacle car for me and there is not a car made that I would like to replace it with. Perhaps a 992 911s with a SportDesign Aerokit package, however that is simply not a price that is feasible for a man like me. This car is a weekend toy for me (Never will it see the track), mostly just to get out, clear my head and enjoy driving. The size, power, handling, ride, aesthetics, exclusivity, etc make this car what it is. At least for me.

I have driven M2 and M2 comp and wasn't impressed. Steering is complete devote of any road feel. Can't say if CS is that much better, but between Cayman S and M2 comp for me personally, there is simply no contest. P car wins by a significant margin. |

If you are going to do A LOT of at the limit driving for time, the Porsche is your best bet. If you are looking for an extremely rare best driver car BMW has to offer that is a complete hoot even at 50 mph on public roads, the CS fits that bill. The bonus is I can have 70% street fun in the car with my 11 year old son and his best Buddy and impress the hell out of them. Then go fill up groceries for the week. Another bonus is that I don't feel like I'm being too flashy driving the CS to my office garage filled with Toyota's and Honda's. Yet, I get a lot of attention at cars and coffee. The CS is the perfect mix of performance and utility for me, and I get to row through the gears. I completely understand the lure of the Porsche though. |

Either a four seat more entertaining car
Or a two seat more composed car Do you want to feel rewarded by driving it right Will you savor the mistakes and corrections or Do you feel rewarded because it drives right Will you savor the perfection Different strokes for different folks Pick your poison |

I'd be curious to see how much the increased air density being under sea level would help a NA engine w/ a stock tune. Of course, it's not like we're talking -7000ft sea level here or something like you get with being above.

I don't really understand these comparisons, but especially don't understand the need to get worked up over them. Who cares! Different cars...different pros and cons...buy what suites you!
