It's going down this weekend!
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com 1. decontaminate the paint with tar and iron remover 2. clay any rough areas (don't think there are many as car is new) 3. strip wash 4. let dry fully overnight 5. tape trim/sensitive areas 6. light polish with Sonax perfect finish to jewel it up, using dual action polisher 7. IPA wipedown 8. Adams graphene coating (never used it before so thought I would give it a try after lots of good reviews...I normally use CQ UK 3.0 ceramic) 9. Keep out of elements for at least a day 10. Enjoy a nice cold beer and just stare at the car |

Awesome! Enjoy the cold beer while you look at your freshly cleaned car and say "wait...are the 788's....already covered in brake dust..? But HOW?!"

Did you get the black light with the graphene coating? I used it on my wife’s Palisade and it was nice to see where I either missed a spot or a had too much coating. It was a very easy process to apply and buff off.

I did not…but maybe I should? I go slow and steady with coatings so hopefully I’ll be ok.

Hey bud.. you might want to plan a low polish buff after claying. Claying mostly will put some minor lines which you take out using a polish compound light buff..

Thanks, yes I’m planning on doing that with sonax perfect finish. Should provide light correction and provide a nice shine.

I was pretty happy getting out and washing the car before the sun came over the hills this morning and then I have to see this thread. Meguiars gold plus + two small buckets + ratty hose + bunch of microfibre towels = 45-50 mins OG Shark - I'll leave the buckets and hose out, you'll need your own soap and towels

So just wrapped up the ceramic coating. All told, I put about 10 hours into the process over the past 3 days. Now it’s tucked away from the elements for the next 24 hours to allow it to fully cure. Got to really see and feel all the beautiful lines on the car, just an absolute stunner.
One BIG surprise during the process. My neighbors know by now how car crazy I am, and that I frequently have a new “toy”. But this car has drawn more neighbor attention than any other car, by far. It was a total surprise. Even more than other more expensive cars I’ve had. |
