Problem is that NGK doesnt make the same heat range as stock plug, OEM is 5 vs NGK is 8 and resistance is different as well.

I'd also want to be running stock heat range on a stock tune or light tune though. Wonder why NGK doesn't make a suitable plug in a 7 heat range? |

Not sure myself, you would assume enough N55 and S55 engines were built for NGK to be interested.

Generally you don't want to go colder without cause as that can cause misfires and rough idling due to incomplete combustion. However from what I have seen it appears it is fine to go colder on this platform without having issues. So if you want it would be ok to go with the 1 step colder NGK's. Albeit with FCP euro you can just get the OEM plugs and pay the crazy fee once and from there on out it is free. I just hope bosch moves all production back to Germany so the quality issues on the standard non bmw part is better.

Exactly my thought.
Free from now on, and factory specs. Quote:
