Dealers don't know anything and what they told you makes no sense anyway.

I bet the CS won't get the CCBs - just every single CF goodie that you can buy for the M2/M2C now.

Oh, and ~10 more BHP....

Does your dealer know when the CS with CCBs and front winglets will be available? I thought the CS is not going into production until March 2020 and will be a MY21

The CS should be going into production before this summer, exactly one year after the Compeition started production. Pretty sure it will be a 2020MY car. The rumored CSL will be a 2021MY car

Could anyone speak to whether I'll be receiving a MY19 or MY20? I'm a bit unclear on the whole FEB MY20 production.

I signed a purchase agreement back in July to take delivery of a MY19 in May 2019. I haven't finalized my allocation yet (for obvious reasons), but I'm wondering if someone could shed light on how long it takes to produce M2C's and if I'd make the FEB Production for a MY20?

I've already asked my SA, but his response wasn't really clear.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

I think the bottom line is simple. If the production month of the car is 03/2019 or later, it will be a 2020 model.

I put down a deposit in early December and my order is sitting in the BMW order bank. My dealer has no new allocations (which they say is true for all in the US) and no idea when BMW will issue them. Just waiting to see how this plays out.

I am in the same boat as you, except my dealer has not been able to even get my build into the bank. They claim that because I am trying to do Euro Delivery, it keeps getting bounced out after initial acceptance. After the dealer asked a few questions to the higher ups, they claim they are no longer doing Euro Delivery for the M2C at all....but that just does not make sense. I have a feeling BMW has cut off any more orders of MY2019's until the Feb allocations come out for MY2020's. I requested the dealer ask for clarification.

My strategy is to just be patient and wait for the Feb allocations to come out and see what happens. Nothing we can really do until we have more info. What is another month after a few years of planning...

Let us know what they say when they ask for clarification. That'll be some useful information

I don't think my2019 orders are cut off. I just placed an order on dec 1 2018. It was supposed to be January 2019 allocation. It actually got built in December, 1 month early.

So frustrating that February keeps getting mentioned in the thread. Feb is the END of the 2019s. March is the START of the 2020s.

See CSBM5 post for ultimate clarification.

edit - @msport x1, not blaming you, just frustrated with the confusion. But to be clear there is no MY20 FEB production!

In Australia, any build Sept and before is a current MY. October and later becomes a following year MY. I think this is just how the car is referred to in each country/market.

I've got a 2019 build MY19 on order in Australia. No spec difference to a MY18 car built Sept 2018. Simply better resale than a MY19 built in 2018 is all.

Elsewhere it's been mentioned that a dealer had heard that MY20 will have a price increase greater than the usual annual amount in the USA because of the new tariffs on imported automobiles. Perhaps BMW doesn't want to sell more MY19 M2Cs in the US at the current price and is waiting for MY20 to increase the price, hence why BMW is not issuing allocations for MY19s, even though they are still in production and available outside the US.

When I had my 981, I bought some cheap firewood at a gas station once...and obviously put it into the frunk. A lady close by saw me and said “Whoah!! Where’s your engine?” I smiled, and said, “it’s in the middle”. The look of complete incomprehension was worth a million dollars.

My SO M2C 6mt is Feb build and after having dealer check whether drifting to Mar would pick up any new model changes - response is no model/ spec changes till Sept ‘19 when MY20 models are produced. At least that is for Australia. BTW no talk of allocations here - order it and get it. Eg order by mid Jan, get a Mar/ Apr build- delivery +2 mths. I ordered Nov, was to be Jan prod - now early Feb although I have BBK and changed colour from LBB.

Hey Muncher, good choice on the colour change - I have a 6MT SO on order too! No BBK though. I'm also in Australia, ordered last month and have been told a March build slot..quietly hoping for it to end up a bit sooner but we'll see.

Thanks for the clarification, doug_999! Any chance you know the general production timeline - i.e. (2) months from allocation finalized to delivery at Welt? Would be a shame to miss out on MY20 by a few weeks.
