And understeer increases laptimes.. Have you driven 1M/M2/M2C on track? If you treat them like a Caterham you get understeer. So you brake earlier and go in less fast(off course) than Caterham. I can go on and plough in whatever with an F40, GT3(understeer built in) but it does not work. Cheers Robin |

I've not driven an Manything on track, and likely never will, as I see them as fast road cars (for which they are awesome). My Caterham runs a geometry setup that not ideal for tyre wear, and not ideal for road conditions, but is excellent on track... very little understeer, unless you made a mistake. I guess one day we'll have "variable geometry" on cars to switch them between track / road config... which would be cool, as long as it's not too heavy! |

Understeer on the road with the M2C? Seriously? Maybe you are driving too fast, man! If the M2C understeers, then 99% of the road cars are undriveable.

I agree, if you're getting understeer in an M2C on the road... you're going to be seeing a policeman or tree up close pretty soon. |

IN an effort to get this thread back on track...
Someone mentioned R&T 0-60 time of 3.9. That's probably true, but bear in mind that (IIRC) R&T's standard practice for 0-60 is from a 2 foot rolling start, not from a standstill. That's why they always seem to produce better numbers than manufacturers.

Also if you're going to do a dedicated track car that is towed with a truck and trailer why would you pick a Caterham? There are plenty of dedicated track cars that are faster with full aero (Stohr WF1, Radial SR8, Pro Formula Mazda) etc. |

LOL @ Dildos but anyway. The fastest street Caterham I can think of is about 2 secs faster @ Hockenheim Short than M2C.
TBH I thought 620R(this is a 620, not a 420/500) would be much faster(>5s or so) Cheers Robin |
