ConnectedDrive for M2 LCI

Can someone tell me where I can find what features are available for my LCI M2 via the ConnectedDrive Remote App? Purchased the car as approved used from BMW and since its 3 years old now the original subscription has expired.

I keep hearing about Remote start, remote aircon etc. but I know those can be car specific so wanted to double-check before I pay.

Thanks!

You will have a better chance of a meaningful response if you post in the correct forum for your car.

Load the app it should work once logged in

M2 doesn't have remote start as far as I'm aware

My connected app works for locking and unlocking as well as ventilation

I'm not planning to pay and I'm sure mine is working and I just passed the 3 year mark the week of Christmas

Connect app also gives you information on the car. It can give you the status of all the doors and windows as well as telling you what mileage or date service is due.

It's actually quite useful

Checking the availability of fuel ⛽️ is my favorite

Although I do dumb it down a bit by turning off the map/location stuff because I'm not needing any more tracking crap

What he is talking about is the app tells you were your M2 is currently located. It has a map function as well as giving you an address if it is parked.

Many thanks guys, that last screenshot is exactly what I needed to see.

I believe some of those features will come in handy for me and given the cheap cost it is to renew I might as well do it

Cheers

I'd load the app first I'm not entirely sure you'll have to pay

My Connected App says it expires 4 years from the original date of purchase

Most of my connected drive memberships for different services expired starting in September once I hit the 3 years. Connected drive bit from the screenshot above is still working fine.

After mine expired, the only items I could view were fuel level, total range, and mileage. Everything else is gone including control functions like lock/unlock, ventilation, and location services.

You're lucky that you even get that much; mines (pre-LCI) has expired and is completely useless, where absolutely no option or information is available.

Just this when the phone APP is loaded:

Yea it is but it was free for the first four years, which was pretty generous for contemporary BMW standards and I wouldn't mind paying and renewing the subscription but I'm not really using my car right now, on the account that it has summer tires on and honestly, my iPhone is really so much more direct and efficient, for the same task, rending the ConnectDriver service almost redundant, so I'm just running out the clock until I feel it's really necessary..

Plus, I already use this car data OBD2 dongle below on my car, which has an active 4G LTE connection and accomplishes most of the task of that of BMW Remote Services offers and more, such as free roadside assistance.

No, unfortunately, it does not control the vehicle's locking mechanism; it's more a reactive, read-only only setup. Pretty much of like the APP layout below..

However, as a consolation, it does give you an instant phone alert, if the vehicle is shaken or bumped, the car doors or windows become open or the car alarm is triggered.

Plus, it's like $10 a month, added to my phone bill and comes with an inclusive 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, so I try to look at it as a glass half-full option, instead of a compromise..

Well mine expires on the 13th in theory so I guess I'll see what happens. Currently everything still works.
