I got a BMW Connected message yesterday telling me my 2017 M2 needed an oil service.

The interesting part is that my M2 is a 2018. Hmm. Wonder what happened when Connected knows my VIN?

How odd. Did you buy your car in late 2017? If it is a date driven oil service, maybe that is where the confusion is (2018 sold in 2017).

It is a November 2017 build that I picked up in January 2018.

It actually is due for an oil change. So message was correct but the year of the M2 was wrong.

It is going in next Tuesday for probably its last free maintenance.

P.S. I hate that they changes from a complete four year maintenance to just a three year oil change and one brake fluid change. Dropping wiper blades and brakes is just a bummer.

I changed my own oil the second time

I'm overdue for a oil and brake fluid change

Connected drive is referring your car's build year not model year.

Fan only. Here in Florida it doesn't really help all that much.

I've coded the car so my key fob rolls down the windows with an unlock\long press. That works a ton better.

My last several BMWs have done that without coding. My M2 does it also without coding.

Lol. I think you're right. I coded the windows to go UP when i hold down lock. I think they don't do that out of the box in the US anymore.

Lol. That works without coding also. Also works with holding your finger on the door control also.
