Was bored today and decided to paint the shifter trims. Surprisingly it came out pretty nice. I used a satin spray paint (mtn alien) which I've used before on other plastic trims for my other cars. A good alternative to the $500 trim sold by bmw.

Yesterday I installed:

- Bend Calibration Flex Fuel Kit
- 3.5bar TMAP sensor
- New Exhaust Tips

No pics of the last 2, but I do have a full install video I did for the flex fuel kit here:

I spent the entire weekend installing my VRSF charge pipes, 6.5" intercooler, MST inlet pipe and turbosmart BOV. I got to around 7pm last night and was moving on to do the catless downpipe but I actually didn't have a 16mm wrench and called it.

My hands look like I just went through a bare knuckle boxing tournament. I've literally built an engine that was "easier" to do than trying to get to the stock diverter valve and get the MST inlet on. There is seriously no room to work and everything around is sharp. If I had to do it again, I'd still do the easier things like intercooler and charge pipes and just pay a shop for a few hours of labor for the BOV/inlet.

Pic is from my girlfriend "helping" me by playing among us on her phone while I did everything.

I didn't get to drive the car yet but I did turn it on and had no errors. Revving past 3k a few times gives that loud atmospheric venting noise from the BOV that I was looking for. Would there be any way to tell that my installs failed besides going for a drive and feeling a boost leak or something? I probably wont drive it until this Friday when I swap out the sport cat for the catless downpipe.

Got Falken RT660s last week and finally got my Apex EC7 wheels in and now stuffed in my car for installation/alignment tomorrow. Can't wait after waiting since Black Friday.

You have any issues seeing out of the front? I have 20% everywhere except windshield. Thinking about 50% on the windshield

Not at all, from the inside it's only slightly darker at night, and I don't even notice the difference all that much until I actually open the window and see the difference. In the daytime it's even less of an issue - and now I don't have to wear sunglasses!

That looks great does it feel smooth like the original? Or any high points from painting?

No bumps... it's flat. That's how the mtn alien paint lays. I've used it on a few other interior trims (idrive bezel) on my X5 with a smooth finish.
