The specific mod who made the statement clarified it was definitely in jest earlier in the thread. Granted I don't doubt that kind of thing has happened.

Remember, forums are a dictatorship, not a democracy. On a side note, I saw one of the new M3's on the road the other day and was quite surprised a how fantastic looked (they don't look as good stationary IMO), but the front was still too much for me to get over. I don't think it's just the bad design, it's that it doesn't fit the rest of the car (to my eye). Still, I have spoken to several people that said that they could get over it because the rest of the car is quite nice, and I'm leaning that way myself. |

The grilles are a minor piece of a big pie, which is one reason why their HUGE appearance is so "wrong". But the right color - and I think it's the darker ones - on an M4 the grilles are easier to accept. Doesn't mean I like them all of the sudden, just that I hate them less. From the side, that M4 is friggin great lookin'. 3/4 rear is awesome, too. REAL NICE interior. I wouldn't be embarrassed driving one. But I would be watching aftermarket providers to come up with a better bumper design, and be on the short list to get it. OH WAIT! Almost forgot... About the forum... I don't want to see the F87 M2 forum die. I really enjoy the conversations & reading about what folks do their rides. Plus, a lot of you really active members make for great threads & advice.

It is surprising to see this low of activity on a forum with the model that should have the most enthusiasts (or second behind M3/4). Especially given the vast amount of aftermarket parts available.

Back on topic, I've only been on this forum for about 18 months, but it has gotten noticeably quieter even just in that time.
I suspect that it's because despite the vocal minority not liking the G87 (I'm one), most are preparing to jump off the F87 to whatever is the latest hot new thing. Not as many people talking about crank hubs, upgraded turbos, & serious suspension mods anymore. Activity has become mostly wheels, off-the-shelf coilovers, and aftermarket taillights. |

What I've noticed is that there are not THAT many modified M2's, so therefore only a handful of build threads. Most of the cars here just have a few bits of carbon and that's it (mine included). Maybe it's because the car is so great in stock form I'm on the fence about the G87, but definitely not as excited as I was when the F87 came out. Even that subforum is completely dead. The early drives really didn't generate that much interest IMHO. P.S. For what it's worth, I still think it's really cool that there are members here that have owned every type of BMW M's, and even Porsches and rave about how good/fun the M2 is. I always find that quite amazing.

I think we are just busy lol. I think there are tons of modified M2s that people dont post to forums but only show in their local groups.
