Bought an F8X multi switch and polar blue M1/M2 buttons from iND. The reason I replaced the whole switch was so the logos would illuminate orange at night. Worse case scenario it's just an aesthetic mod to match the rest of my interior, but hopefully I can modify them to open and close my exhaust valves

Why not.

How about one for Mute for your radar detector.

Got rid of my radar detector for good cause it was a pain in the ass that gave more false alarms than actual warnings that were useful. Annoying to have to mute it every 2 min. Honestly I'd rather just take the occasional ticket lol.

No tickets no way I keep my record clean and I am over insured so it's worth it weight in gold.

The Uniden R3 it filters out much of that and you can GPS mark the faults alarm.

I honestly don't speed much and my records clean so I just don't feel that I need one. To each his own I guess.

One Ticket can snowball rates and it takes several years to get back to where you were before.

Driving the M2 I am hardly able to be an Angel.

As such I have a great traffic lawyer.

No worries.

The Uniden R3 is the one I would get, but not sure it would be that useful in my area.

I just got and installed an R3.

It is silent almost all of the time. It does go off for the odd K Band detection of retail spaces but you can location mute them and then it doesn't go off any more.

There are also K band alerts for those signs you see at the side of the road that tell you how fast you're going, often with a smily face if you're under the limit, and sad face if you're not.

I've only seen one Ka notification in the week since I've had it, but it was very weak, and probably some distance away. I've also not seen any cars pulled over or any cops out checking speed.

In 6 years in the Bay Area, I've not been stopped, but I'm sure I've been close a number of times on Central Expressway and 280 in the past. I'm hoping the R3 will alert me to these threats ahead of time... we shall see.

Oh, I should say that I read the Vortex Radar guide for how to configure the R3, and I'm sure that's why it's so quiet. Years ago, I had a really low end radar detector and it went off all the time. Like most people I gave up and just never used it. The R3 is a VERY different experience, and I've been happy so far.

It's the best on the market currently beating out all the top dogs.

I jumped brands to buy it. Clearly Uniden is killing it right now.

They always pay for themselves IMO,

I don't think so, but I might be wrong. I think it's mostly Ka Band in CA, and out area isn't an exception as far as I know.

I think they're just not very active at doing speed traps, maybe because traffic is busy most of the time?!?

Probably early Saturday or Sunday morning is when you're more likely to see them.

I like those kind of mods! :-)

On my e46 (5MT) i put in the E46 M3 SMG Steering wheel and use the shifting paddles for blinking left and right!

I also have R3 installed and only Ka seg 5 & 8 are on everything else turned off. I've never got any alert on the freeway. However, on July 4th I went hiking around skyline blvd and R3 went off 3 times. A lot of cops and bikers that day usually I don't see that many. That was the first time I know my RD is working properly. lol

US Millworks. It's been great. Super easy to install and has the perfect bumper clearance (in my opinion )
