Just wondering, are there any benefits to turning cold start off ? Also, if I’m catless on my big turbo setup, do you guys recommend I keep it off since I don’t have cats ?
My idle has been much more stable and way less annoying to others in the parking garage. I was gonna see if it helps anything else ? It seems many people switched to it off and perfer it off. |

Cold start's primary function is to get the cats up to operating temps faster. No other benefit really. I turned mine off because I have a high flow cat and it's quite loud in the mornings.
Since you're catless, I recommend keeping it off. |

The only benefit is the lack of noise.
The detriment is more pollution. I turned mine off the moment I got BM3, hated that loud crap. |

gotcha that’s what I figured. it’s weird because my shop said it was causing idle to be choppy and to even fail on warm crank ups

That doesn't make sense. To my understanding, all the cold start does it hold the wastegate open to bypass the turbo and get as much energy into the cats to light them off to begin working better. Shouldn't effect idle or cranking.
