Probably not. I'll keep this until the warranty is over, and then probably jump into a P car, thinking next generation 718 GTS.

P car will be a good next car from the M.

Here's my M that gate crashed a Porsche meet somewhere in Switzerland last summer.

I am really curious about the next gen 718/cayman model range. There has been so many talk about it being electric. But I have doubts as the US electric infrastructure is pretty sparse. I also keep hearing the GTS 4.0 will be special, which I understand, but I think Porsche may have one more go at NA before going to hybrid or full EV. I know this forum is about BMWs. But would love to hear thoughts from BMW owners. After all, the G series M2/3/4 are still ICE.

Gorgeous view. What I would give to have that be my romping ground.

The 718 rumor mill consensus seems to be that the base will be full electric or hybrid, and higher trims will still have a combustion engine. The unknown is how many engine platforms will Porsche support due to the stricter Japanese and European rules vs. the more lax US rules.

Someone actually timed it. Pretty hilarious stuff. The supra/charger race was a 1 minute and 20 second quarter mile. About the speed of an average runner

Keep.
Will be a mistake to change.
I don't think the next M2 will be this good, BMW is likely to screw up based on their history.

I will probably get Porsche 718 GTS next. BMWs are getting boring. But will still keep my M2C.

Would love to get back in a porsche after owning a 996 turbo but...

gt4 have very long gearing and it's a turn off in the street.

Porsche will always call me but i Will keep the m2c since it's everything i want in one car.....and it have more practicality than a Porsche,

I mean you can pick up a lage pizza take out and just put it in the trunk.... with a Porsche 911, it's a tetris game, doesn't fit in the front trunk, i needed to order 2 small to pick up the pizza take out with my 996 turbo, for little things like that Porsche is a bit annoying, you always want to drive it but can't always

The M2c is better because you can go anywhere doing whatever you want, it's always fun and practical

I voted no, thinking i was going to trade the C for a CS but it came to pass. I'll just wait and see for the next gen then decide if I will keep or trade the current C.

I plan to keep my M2C for a long time AND change it.
I am both happy with the car and enjoy the ongoing mods.

I've been thinking of selling my 2021 M2C in HS 6MT lately. It only has 1,596 miles. Reason why is I found an M2 CS that's due to arrive at a dealership in several weeks and I got the itch to give it a go. That or a used GT4.

The plan was to keep the car forever. I forked out over $2,900 on PPF and ceramic, which is why I'm trying to talk myself out of it. But that's not working lol

My plan has been to hold onto this one for 20 years. But I have recently given myself permission to reevaluate that in 3 years when I see what the used market for the M2CS is.

I agree. That GT4 2nd gear is crazy long...think redline is hit at close to 80mph.

For 2021 you can now apparently get the PDK in the GT4. I'm guessing it won't have a wide as Texas 2nd gear.

Still undecided but have about a year on the lease. Likely will buy it out and decide later.

Reminds me of a shopping trip with an E89 Z4. Bought a 24x36 picture frame. It was too big behind the top or under the top partition. I had 1 inch to spare getting it diagonally in the front door opening and it just fit from the passenger floor board to the roof over the seat. I could have dropped the top but it may have been raining.

Summed up nicely and why I never see myself jumping from an M car to a Porsche.

And partly why the E9x M3 was a turn off for me...just impossible to fully enjoy around the city because I'd be arrested tryin to get into the upper RPMs.

I think all variants of the M2 are keepers...one of the best M cars BMW has ever built, a great do everything vehicle, and the first generation of the M2s makes it a little extra special in my eyes.

It's a struggle because I like a different car every couple of years, but I think growing old with my OG has some appeal to it.

Damn, already?! If you have money burning a hole in your pocket, then why not? Otherwise you know that is not a sound decision, and not just financially, but because you wont get the high/buzz you think you will from "upgrading" to either of your future options. I would say go much bigger if you wanna upgrade like a 911 Turbo at least. Thats just MHO, you do you.

You're absolutely right. It's not a wise decision financially by any stretch. Who knows, I may end up just keeping the car after all. I do love everything about it. I realize that grass isn't always greener on the other side, which probably applies to cars more than anything else.
