I just used the free version of this site, but if you click on the boat icon, this box comes up and they grey box that has route forecast should become viewable and that's how I kept an eye on the Grand Hero. The free version of that site is actually pretty useful for basic stuff like: is the boat moving? where/how fast? I actually could watch it pulling in/parking on the map when it got to the port.
Thanks , it's shows it headed towards Baltimore and next stop should be Brunswick,GA

Very nice! What's the verdict on the trakk tape? I've read too many reviews about it damaging paint and clear coat that it has me scared and considering painters tape instead.
Just got back home, am taking it in for Xpel and ceramic coating install on Wed, will keep the Trakk Tape on until then. I drove ~500 miles over 3 days with it during a severe heat warning in SoCal, with temps as high as 110 where I was.

I did a crappy job installing, with bubbles galore and had to retape a few spots each night. And I taped very little of the painted surface, just two strips across hood and the entire front bumper area and mirrors, plus one strip across top. The surface looked fine to me when I peeled off the pieces to replace, but I'm no expert!

Stayed off the freeways for all but ~50 miles.

I'll repost when I hear from the experts how I did! I expect to have the car back on Friday.
Final verdict on the Trakk Tape - I had one very small chip in the bumper where I didn't have TrakkTape and a couple small cuts also not noticeable without a magnifying glass. That's it. And that was after driving 500 miles skirting around LA to get to San Diego from up north.

The TrakkTape had no effect on paint or clear coat, the only issue was that it didn't stick to itself in some spots and curled up in a few spots where dirt got under.

When I cut those spots to re-apply I must have cut into the bumper a couple times.

I was using box cutters, they recommend using an exacto knife instead and not cutting while the material is on the car.

Now I have Xpel and ceramic coating and didn't have to pay $600+ to transport it. Not to mention the fun driving the backroads around and into the mtns.

Not the Swiss and Slovenian Alps we originally planned to drive it on, but super fun!

My car is at port now in Germany. I converted from ED to normal US delivery a couple weeks ago. Hoping it gets on a ship over the next couple days.

Most of the vessels arrive later than initial estimates. Just be happy the ship is still heading in the right direction. I had a vehicle on a ship that experienced engine trouble and went back to Southhampton. All the vehicles had to be unloaded and wait for ships that had space for them. Everything worked out, and it was better than the ship sinking in the ocean along with all the cars.

Use the MarineTraffic app on iOS and pay the 99 cents for 24 hour access to satellite tracking.

It's kind of cool. I splurged and spent $1.98.

I’m not really following it. It’ll get here when it gets here. Just don’t want to set myself up for disappointment.

How long does the "In Transit" part usually take, lets say from Germany to East Coast US? Mine has been in transit on the ship for about a week now but I dont know if I should expect 2-3 weeks of it sailing.

What is the name of the vessel? If you don't know, call BMW Customer Relations or your CA. They should also be able to provide the ETA at Port. Also, with the vessel name, you'll be able to look at the ship piping line's schedules online.

I talked to the BMW Genius by phone last week to see if they had the date for arriving at port. My car has been sitting in Bremerhaven for over a week now. The BMW rep said that they are sitting at port a lot longer than usual due to production schedule issues over COVID. He indicated that cars can sit there for 2-3 weeks, waiting to get scheduled onto a ship.

Sounds normal for this year. Once assigned to a vessel, they'll give you an ETA. Keep in mind that actual date is usually later than estimated.

Can confirm, mine sat for almost a month before getting on a ship.

Mine was there from Aug 9th to Aug 22nd, then was loaded onto the Hoegh Trotter. Should be in Baltimore on 8-9 Sept.
