I loved the 763 until I had them, and they were just so underwhelming. There was nothing wrong with them really, apart from the cheap finish, they just didn't look as nice as the car in real life. In pictures they're just fabulous, but IRL they were a total let-down, much like the black plastic bits that cause the M2 to look cheap beside the M4.
So I refinished them...twice, and still couldn't shake the feeling that they were just so "normal." and unspecial. I envy the guys that can buy a set of semi-gloss (they aren't really matte) 763M's and be happy with that. |

Swapped on my VS-5RS Apex wheels. Loving the new setup!

hey guys so I’m currently about to get tires for dailying and running PS4S but was wondering if people think Cup 2 tires are better for street driving. since I am push a lot more power than stock I wanted to get more grip but I am worried with the rain since Tampa does rain a lot during some seasons. Also, I see on tire rack there are Cup 2 and Cup 2 connect. Anyone know what the differences are and if one is better than the other. Cup 2 seem to have more groves for grip so I’m assuming it’s like a better PS4S ?

The Cup2's **definitely** hook up better. But, the tradeoff is that they wear quickly in comparison to the MP4S's, are VERY noisy (road hum, and as they're so sticky, you'll hear every single pebble hitting the undercarriage), adversely affect the ride quality due to the stiffer sidewall, and are.... not *quite* terrifying in the rain, but it's close. Did I mention that they're noisy as hell? The MP4S's are much, much more.... civilized (?) in comparison? They admittedly don't hook up quite as well, but they wear much better, are much, MUCH quieter, give a more "steetable" ride, and are predictable in the rain. Basically, it depends on how much you're willing to compromise for each tire. I was running a tune (i.e. a lot more power) on the car, and I thought the Cup2's handled that better-- buuuut, I don't think I'd like to run them on the car as a daily. They just weren't particularly civilized for daily use-- at least that was my opinion on them. As well, I only got 4-5 track days out of the Cup2's (drive 1+15 to track, Open Lapping/HPDE, drive 1+15 home) before I was down to the metal cords. They also had a tendency to get a bit greasy unless you aired them down significantly-- about 28 cold/34 hot seemed to be the sweet spot-- but I wouldn't run those pressures on the street. After a lot of reflection, I think I'm going to give the RE-71RS's a shot for the track. But I LOVE the MP4S's-- they're staying as my go-to choice for daily/street/date night driving. I can't press them quite as hard as the Cup2's-- but it's not really all that noticeable on the street. And they're FAR better to live with on a daily basis. Just my 0.02. R.

In general you're going to need to define exactly what specific type of increased performance you're looking for from your tires, and how long you expect to get it, and under what conditions, then we can make a recommendation. |

You need a drag radial IMO. https://www.thedrive.com/reviews/bes...or-drag-racing But skip the 888R that they list, it's a JUNK tire in every way, and not a drag radial by any stretch of the imagination. |

Put me in the camp of 2 sets of wheels and tires every damn day of the week. There is no better Summer daily than a PS4S, but if you're carving anything up, please fit a 71RS/660/AD09/A052/etc. |

I've been debating between getting the Apex VS-5RS or the BC Forged KL01 and I need some help. Let me know if different specs are recommended for these.
The spec I would like the VS-5RS in would be 19x9.5 +22 front and 19x10.5 +25 rear in satin black. The spec I would like the KL01 in would be 19x9.5 +23 front and 19x10.5 +33 in matte black, similar to the ones on the M2C on this wheel front website, https://wheelfront.com/cars/bmw-m2-c...c-forged-kl01/. I also plan to buy some coilovers to lower the car with, probably Ohlins R&T. I would like to stay with a 35 height, but what would be the fattest tire I could fit? 265/35/19 front and 285/35/19 rear? Tire brand/model recommendations for spirited street driving? One last question, which are the vendors that are best to buy these through and that give bimmerpost members discounts?
