Too old for an M2C ?

I don't like to think I'm old, but I am almost 50 with a family so I'm not a teenager either. I have a perfect family car in a Tesla Model S. It's great at everything, except that it's kind of a big boring family sedan. This is definitely a first world problem, but now that the Tesla tech amazingness has worn off, I just drive it around like a minivan. Whenever I hear Elon Musk talk about the next advance in self driving, rather than being appropriately excited, I think.. oh great, so we will make driving even more boring.

I test drove a M2C about a year ago and my reaction was.. "it's alive!" I loved it. But at "my age" I'm debating if an M3/M4 is more appropriate. Or even a 911, although I'm loathe to spend that kind of money on a car. Is the M2C more of a car for 20 year olds or 30 year olds? This sounds like a stupid question in my head even as I type it. But it's a thing. You know, I shouldn't be wearing skinny jeans at some point either (not that they fit me, but you know what I mean).

there is no car that is meant for old people or young people, if you love cars and like to have fun you should get it. I am older than you and booked a M2C and heck get away from a Tesla, don't understand how people drive them

Dude I'm 57 and went from an M235i to an M2C few month ago and love it. Never to old for anything as long as you have the drive to do it. M3/4 are nice so is a 911 but for the price I will take an M2C any day...

I'd say depending on what kind of enthusiast you are.

Other than the image, I've heard some older owners complain about the noise insulation, or the fact that it's not comfortable.

Make no mistake, the M2 platform is as raw as a modern sports coupe can be. It vibrates, it howls and it'll throw you against the seat bolster, you'll feel a lot more and sometimes it'll get rough.

As far as maturity goes, I think the M2 looks classic enough if you keep it stock or light mods especially with one of the less flashy colors.

You are never too old for a bicycle, then why worry about cars?

Add me to the over 50 crowd thoroughly enjoying a recently purchased M2C. Enjoy your time and money while you can ... and love of course should be in there somewhere.

I would not consider the M2C a replacement for your family Tesla but it would make a nice addition to your automotive quiver. You can save the 911 for when you are turning 60.

I'm 57 and mine will arrive in 3 weeks! Cant wait. I too have a Tesla in the garage and to me they are perfect compliments to each other. Each serves a different purpose. But if you love machines, you can't help but marvel at both

60 here and one of the best cars I ever owned. I just added the MPE exhaust and valve controller to keep the valves open for even more sound. My daily is a 340 xdrive and the cars are night and day compared to each other which for me is great.

48 here.

I've been in my old e90 M3, F80 M3, X5's, e46 M3, etc, etc, and this is my favorite car to drive.

There is not such thing as "old" for driving a fun car that puts a smile in your face every time you get in it.

60 here and loving it. I have an M550i as a daily.

I get the M2C out to the mountain roads, autocrosses and track days.

45 here. A guy at work said "it's a girls car."

At about 12 years old, when I became a Star Trek "nerd," I realized I couldn't live my life according to other people's terms.

People that assign age or gender to activities such as this are best ignored.

Get an E92 M3, nice juxtaposition with the Tesla. Far more exciting engine, more feel some, and you won't lose money on it. I wouldn't worry about 'maturity factor' for either car, drive what makes you happy.

How often do you come across things or people that make you feel "I am alive" these days?

When you do just remember to hold onto them dearly!!!

Why would an m2 be for kids , but a Porsche is for old men ? Lol that’s funny .

No matter what car you get , old guys always look funny in sports cars and I’m an old guy saying this !

The thing is it’s mostly old guys who can afford these cars , so I say chose whatever car your heart desires no matter what age you are !
