I think that, I figured how this works actually.

AMG A45/CLA45 tuned their exhaust systems similar while in sport mode and on higher revs to produce those burble sounds.

So, how it works well very simple by when you release the throttle between 2k-4k range, the small amount of fuel is being injected which makes those little crackles and which cool down the turbo in the same time.

This is for practical reasons way more pronounced in sport+ mode and on higher revs, as it actually has real purpose, but again in comfort and only click of dsc is simply pointless and just to draw attention (show off).

Well, It switch back to comfort mode anytime when you press DSC short or hold it for too long.

So request is if someone with MPE, sport-cat decat or fabspeed pipes could try this out on idle, and make some video.

Just rev on idle up to 4k revs and release the pedal.

I will try to make comparison video in the next few days.

I agree that unburnt fuel causes pops as it hits the hot exhaust metal and ignites. But is the exhaust louder in comfort+DSC blip or does it just have more pops (running even richer)? If just more pops, then it must mean more unburnt fuel is making its way into the exhaust, right?

Can't determine huge difference on higher revs in that and in regular sport+ mode.

Will have to get one of those sound level measuring device, and record everything on idle.

This works with the MPE as well. It's my new favourite radio station.

Def for real...Im catless, and have the BMS Can Flap Module...I did it accidentally and it was outragrously loud....Then when I accidently turned it off I was confused and upset...playing with settings and using the bms mod, my inly conclusion is def an open valve along with maybe a more conservtve ignition timing setting or something, i dont have any idea but def more unburnt fuel exploding in that pipe...

I let off next to ppls windows, and I could imagine it would be startling...LOL im a dick

This is now my default driving mode.

I like the fact that we now have the benefit of diminished traction / lighter steering / burbly lift- off. The only issue is the diminished throttle response in comfort. I fixed that tho with a accelerator plug in

Its not ASD, as mine is coded off, and it is all exhaust noise anyway

Ok, so one DSC button blip produces a richer fuel mixture. I wonder if you can code it even richer so fire shoots out the back.

Brilliant find, well done to the OP and shame on all the people that doubted him without trying it first!

It works in auto mode on the DCT as well, so you don't have to put it into manual to hear it. From my playing about with it, it seems like you are putting the exhaust into the same as Sport+ while the engine/DCT stays in comfort mode. A little less help on the traction side, but who cares about that when it sounds even more awesome for low speed in town driving.

Im installing this witha NX express WOT swich under the throttle pedal (activated at 50% throttle) and a toggle...Piping the unrestricted 3" pipe to a 2.5" polished SS reducer to a hole in the side skirt in front of the rear tires with a professionally fabricated carbon heat shield/surround....Then going to have a JB4 map tuned to a super rich mixture as running rich all the time might avoid knock but it robs power and over time wears piston rings....

Used it n my evo 8 and it spit flames under the car until i got a flash which leaned it out...

Not even kidding, seriously doing this lol. Im going to have a spare side skirt after this repair...hehe. Doing it for uniqueness and performance but if i can geta setup going hat shoots flames that will be a bonus..

I find the exhaust is more burbly by doing this in all modes... including Sport.

Haha! Same with me. I was in my garage and revved the M2 up past 4K rpms, let off the gas and then giggled like a high school girl.

Side topic, does anyone know how loud (in decibel) is the m2 mpe? Particularly interested to know the noise leave in track mode. Just wanna double check whether it passes my local authority noise level.

If I understand well, you only have to press the "DSC" button to enter in this "hidden" mode, right ?

In the M235, long 5 second press of the traction button is "DSC off" mode which is said to be the best mode for tracking the car. It activates the e-diff and tells the nannies to go away. It is a an actual mode in itself, I find that this mode sets my car free.

I'm interested to know if the button works the same way in the M2, of course the M2 uses the excellent M diff instead.
