Nav stuck on loading screen

A few days ago my navigation refused to load up on starting the car. Tried holding the volume button down to reset the idrive, and letting the car go fully to sleep, but still just have loading on the nav tile. Speed limit info intermittent as well as it doesn’t know where it is on the map. Limit info pops up when the camera reads a sign then goes back to - - -. GPS is working as I can get coordinates and the compass on the idrive.
Booked into the stealers for warranty visit, I suspect the hard disk has failed, unless there is a software solution. Any one else had a similar issue?

Thanks

Pete

It may be hard drive, or something related to FSC. Best way would be to read the faults.
You can do it easily with ISTA or Tool32.

I had a similar issue and it ended up being the hard drive(do you hear any clicking sounds coming from the dash, almost like a CD is stuck?). Still trying to figure out what needs to be done to replace it, since it looks like it isn't going to be as easy to buying a new hard drive, and plugging it in.

See my post above if you recently had BMW install their warranty fix for 3G expiration. They had to take my car back in a second time because the first reflash didn’t take

I am probably gonna decline this update forever. I don't see how this would affect anything since 3G has actually been shut down in most areas in the US for almost 2 years now. AT&T has had it completely shut down for almost an entire year now. Verizon just as of last week, but they had been dismantling it since 2016. The car also has an LTE radio so what gives? Maybe it's something dumb like it won't even attempt to fallback to 3G if LTE isn't available.

Maybe if BMW would give us a real changelog...

That’s what I’d do in retrospect if I knew all this trouble was coming for me!

For what it is worth, I took advantage of the program as the I-Level / I-Step is updated to the latest version as a part of the process. Admittedly, to date, all I have done with this new capability (latest version as of Jan 2022 for a MY '17) was to enable full-screen CarPlay with BimmerCode.

I too am having an issue with my Nav System not loading. I also had an issue a couple of days ago with noisy error message telling me to maintain or stay in my lane, even though I was in my lane on a public roadway. Do I gave a bigger issue here?
