Running without front plate in Ontario
Hey guys,
Know the regulation here in Ontario. I had tow hook mount and switched back to Carbonio front mount now. Every freaking time I see the car, I just darn want to remove this front plate... I think F87 looks (any car does) wayyy better without ugly plate at the front. Anyone running without front licence plate here in Ontario especially GTA?? Did you actually ended up pulled over by police and paid tickets? Thinking and wishing to run without one.... (at lease for the summer haha) |

I feel bad for owners in provinces and states that enforce front license plates. Front plates simply don’t work well with most new car designs. With the amount of cameras on streets plus the red light cameras at intersections, etc it just seems like an outdated requirement.

I've been down this road many times, eventually they will pull you over. I carried the plate with me and used the same excuse, end result was a ticket. They should just change the law!

I did actually ran mine without any front mount as I really was waiting for my Carbonio purchase and cop stopped me once but he let me go as he figured car was just purchase less than 5 days or something. Just warning. So it does get caught but more of it is that where you drive and if you are lucky or not on certain days. Does it worth to risk??? Will find out |

I would just say.... why risk it. Every ticket counts on insurance...2 and you are done cheap insurance.
I'd rather get mine for speeding.... there is imho more pleasure in that! |

Just got my car last Friday. Been running with no front plate. Did this with my previous s2000 as well. For 3 yrs.
Got 1 ticket but easily dropped at court. And to the previous poster (GregoryK) , incorrect, plate tickets have zero effect on insurance. |

Didn't realise it was not a moving violation. Thanks.

Doesn't bother me at all having the plate on. I added a slightly smoked plate cover and it kinda makes it blend in with the MG.

If they're legal to sell at CT I figure they're good to go. I have a cop friend and he said don't worry about it. And also having the option to remove it and not get a ticket is better than getting a ticket.

So far, I've driven the car from March to Sept last year and for a couple weeks this year. I've been pulled over once and issued a warning. I'm at a point where unless it gets to a point where I'm pulled over constantly, I will keep the front plate off this car. Too nice of a front end to be ruined by some stupid plates.

I was trying sell my US Mill Works tow hook frame and mount (still available in case anyone interested), and I just heard there is another option.
http://licenceplate.ca/ I dont know and the person said that it is grey in legality of this thing. His friend was running P turbo S for 2 years no issue. But my question is if the car look even funnier (in bad way) with this sticker thing at the front haha. I will ask this guy to send a picture once have it on the car. |
