Yes. Power earlier is everything for driving around town. I had a 981 GT4 but barely drove it after getting the M2C. I agree that the 718 is way better for driving around town. While the 3.8L in the GT4 sounds beautiful (nothing had a better sounding stock exhaust), you can't get it into rev range with its long gearing outside out 1st gear, and the torque didn't allow for little powerslides that the M2C allows for at nearly every corner. GT4 was a great track weapon though, but I don't go to the track these days. I would still consider a 4cyl 718 as my next vehicle. I'm upset that they got rid of the GTS. The 4cyl doesn't sound bad to me and I love the feel & power delivery.

I'm looking into perhaps improving the items I feel missing with my M2C.

Researching two products. Auto Solution shift kit and Ultimate Clutch pedal kit.
Do this mod. I have the parts on order, so I do not have them installed yet, but I did have the pleasure of driving one with both, and it really does change the experience for the better.
It's been a few months since you wrote this, have you installed the mod? What does it change about the car's feel? Was something bothering you?

Assume you missed my other thread on this...?

The media truly did a disservice to the 718 and potential buyers and created an issue out of a non issue. But in some way, for true drivers, you can get a relative bargain for a 718.

Damn! Every country should have been so lucky!

Of course, it wouldn't have helped me, I bought an OG M2, and will be replacing the black 437's with a Ferric Grey set.

I am just wondering why Canada gets the M2 wheels as an option and the U.S. does not?

Seems awfully random.

I own both an S2000 and my M2 Competition and i have to say, i'm hard pressed to find another car combination that can really beat what either car can offer.

The S2000 offers the visceral high revving Naturally Aspirated scalpel like handling, without the massive price point that a porsche 911 would have. And sure its 100hp down and not a true Mid engine car (engine technically sits behind the front axle so some people like to claim its min-engine), however you'd be hard pressed to find another car like that for the money nowadays.

The M2 C on the other hand (as i'm sure you'll find out) will give me the practicality and the speed that i sometimes crave. Sure revving to 8.2k is a dream in of itself, but also putting your foot down, hearing that tire squeal before shooting off 0-60 in just over 4 seconds is a great feeling as well.

Wheni drive each car back to back, i honestly cant say which car i prefer. They both offer something completely different than the other in a way each car cant really contest with. Personally i think its the best combination.
I like your thinking. I have a M2C and a STR prepared ND Miata ( which has finally knocked the S2000 off its long standing at the top).

I have my ND for Solo 2 work and top down fun, and my M2C for track work and as a daily...

I love the character of the M2C; it’s so fun to drive, and the S55 is a lovely engine. Also own a 981 Boxster GTS w/x73 and a 991.2 cabriolet (both are pdk, and yes, kind of redundant. BGTS is for sale). I find myself grabbing the M2C key more often than the others, perhaps because it’s a manual.

If I could only have one, I’d be shopping CPO 991.2 base Carreras. Nice examples can be had around $70k, perhaps even less given the current state of car sales.

Oh man, got any pics of the Miata? My best friend has one just for top down cruising and my ex had the red in Manual as a daily. Both are super fun to drive and was a really big contender when i was looking for an S2k.
