IND | Brembo GT-S Brake Kit (F87 M2C)
To this day, there remains a common benchmark when it comes to brakes: Brembo. Indeed, across all facets of motorsport, you wouldn’t have to look very hard to spot a plethora of OE and aftermarket Brembo equipment.
As far as aftermarket is concerned, Brembo has long offered two streetable options: the GT and GT-R kits. The two kits are separated not only by vastly different caliper technology, but a very different price tag as well—the GT-R kit carries a premium due to its much more motorsport-focused demeanor and performance. In recent years, Brembo has filled the giant gap between GT and GT-R with a new offering: the GT-S big brake kit. This new kit pairs a cast monoblock 6-piston caliper with a bespoke gunmetal finish and GT-R heritage branding. The result is as strikingly handsome as it is able to perform. Impressively, the GT-S kit boasts better heat rejection versus its GT counterpart, in large part because of its unique piston design: the GT-S pistons borrow the flagship GT-R’s recessed dust boot design while sporting its own stainless steel, non-ventilated insert. As a fitting compliment to the slew of Fall-Line Motorsports additions, a GT-S brake kit with 380mm Type III rotors were a natural choice. Although the front discs are actually smaller than OE, the weight loss, brake performance, and additional clearance the Brembo caliper / rotor combination offer, all add up to an indisputable upgrade. Truth be told, we believe it to be one of the best, if not the definitive option, for cars destined for both street and track duty.
