For real this time, i used to have 640i with AC Schnitzer goodies and big gold wheels, that car got so many looks it was amazing, at first.
Then i wanted to change to something maybe not so noticeable but still a great car. Even though M2 is twice as expensive as my former -11 640i it still looks cheaper to non-car people. As said in this thread many times, it's just a small white car, where as the 640i is "big expensive bmw that has to cost atleast 100k" |

SUVs have sold more than cars or trucks for the last few years at least according to the new vehicle sales numbers I have seen.

I get that dreamy look from SUV owners all the time with their pack of kids piled in behind.

As I pulled in to pick up my daughter from private school yesterday, the guard, who sees much more expensive cars then my M2 (Porsches, Bentleys, etc.) asked if it was an M2.
When I replied yeah, he asked "400 hp"? He obviously knew the car and doesn't see that many of them! Generally, however, I don't get noticed (or maybe people simply don't comment) that often. |

When in traffic on the freeway on Wednesday a guy in a Lexus was hanging his head out the window asking me how much it costs.

Here in Poland I get almost constant attention:
1. "Look this is a proper BMW, the only one I would get" - says a guy to a girl, both sitting on a motorcycle right beside me waiting for traffic lights. 2. Had a teenager come up to me at the lights asking if he can ride with me and make few snapchats out of it for his friends 3. Lots of girls smiling and commenting about the color (XPEL stealth LBB), got few numbers out of it already Guys mostly comment about the sound and want me to make some music (Remus) 4. See plenty of discussion in my rear view mirror at traffic lights if there are few people in a car behind me, pointing at me etc. I rev and they all thumb up. 5. Dreamy SUV owners in mid 30s is so funny, especially those in BMWs 6. Thumbs up and waves from one or two M4 owners, which I passed by. I get the most interest from owners of older E36, E46 BMWs. 7. A lot of props for going 6MT, most people say it's the first M2 with MT they ever saw. Basically I am center of attention when I sit in traffic. |

not so much in my MG M2 which is OK, I love the look with, tinted windows, MPE, and CF spoiler and winglets.
I still get constant attention when I'm top down in my garage queen E36 Estoril Blue M3 convertible from pre-teen kids to old ladies and a guy in a AM Vanquish racing up to catch me as I'm going 80mph on the 5 in SD just to honk and give a thumbs up. Sure wish the M2 came in EB. |

My neighbour saw me this morning when I was washing the car. His comment was - "you realize it won't grow any bigger no matter how much you water it, right?"
It's probably an old joke but it made me giggle. I like the guy and he has a lovely Irish accent. I did not tell him that the car is the same length and height as my old e46 wagon, I don't think he would have believed me: |

I went from an EB M235i to a LBB M2. The 235 barely got any attention and I expected the M2 to be the same, however, it's actually gotten a ton of attention. I've had people come talk to me about it at gas stations and parking lots, take pictures, throw thumbs up going down the road, neighbors stopping by when I'm washing it, etc.
Maybe there's just not many around here, or maybe it looks sufficiently different/unique to non-enthusiats more than I expected.

All my experience is tied to the 10 days I had with my car a month ago on ED. I noticed a lot of attention, especially from Germans and Austrians. Usually males 15-40. I got stopped at the German Austrian border near Neuschwanstein and the Polizei both gawked over the car and even asked me to "give it some juice" as I left the check point.
The Swiss barely paid attention (too many Ferraris and McLarens around). Might as well been invisible in France. I don't anticipate much notice once I get her back to Oregon.
