All went well. Don't skip anything or cut corners. I went from F020-15-11-505 (E15413A) to F020-18-07-531 (E16202A). I used E-Sys 3.27.1, Launcher Premium 2.8.x, Rheingold and Standard tools (last 2 from Bimmergeeks). PSdZData FULL from https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=901081

Once all updated I cleared 77 codes and only had to Initialise Power windows and Enable Airbag Activation.

Does that have the M2C steering update?

Updated from H16206I to O18184I today after complaining of connection issues. So far I've noticed:

- Burbles are unquestionably quieter. I can't really complain too much about this though as it was almost embarrassingly loud before. Less overun pops when simply driving.
- MDM is much more playful! I can't believe a simple software update can make change a cars character this much.
- Rev-Match seems to be smoother.
- I-drive is more responsive and the abysmal connections I had (having to regularly restart the headunit) seem to be cured. Probably too early to tell for sure though

I think I sent you a PM. but M2C is included since 2017 ISTEP, you just need launcher pro to get the decoded values, or FDL code in HEX if you have the code. Next time I code my car I'll let you know.

PM me

Hi,

I really enjoying the new software too (got updated last Friday). A massive improvement over the 2015 software I was running before. :-)

Does anyone know the exhaust flap behaviour on the latest istep?

Before the update, I pulled the fuse for the exhaust flap for about 1.5 months, but put this back in for the visit to the dealers. On the way over there, I thought that it wasn't working as comfort was still loud, just with less backfires. I still think that it might be stuck, but I need to understand the behaviour to understand the best way to test.

Thanks.

Hello, Could you clarify what kind of "Connection" problems you brought up? and did it immediately make the service advisor say "Oh ok lets just update your ISTEP".

need to get this done, any help would be appreciated!!

You really have to wonder if there's any sound change at all with this latest version when some report pops and burbles are definitely louder, and others report they're definitely quieter. As for me they seem a little less on overrun after shifting, and a little more in mdm mode, but overall not hugely different.

It was actually really simple to get the advisor to agree to the update. I mentioned that I regularly had issues with my phone connecting and that I had the headunit display 'no signal' and be completely unresponsive. It may have helped that I had taken a picture of this error and shared with him...

I'm traveling at the moment, but will try and get that Pic uploaded so you can use it. The update is completely worth it, even just for the more playful MDM.

I tried the phone losing connection along with the annoying PDC staying on but no luck here. That picture would be great!

I'm thinking he meant more snaps, crackles, pops, and burbles. I experienced this also to some degree in MDM mode.

Pretty sure he means more slip before the dsc kicks in

Here's the photo I shared with the service writer. It wasn't a hard sell once he saw this. Feel free to use it!

What I meant by 'playful' is that the actual DSC in MDM mode allows for much more slip angle than before. It was REALLY restrictive before the update and now allows for the car to play, but still have a safety net. It's an entirely different experience and should have been what it was from the beginning.

Anybody else think its weird that with MDM on, allowing greater slip angles, etc, active drive mode reverts to Comfort? Guess thats what Sport+ drive mode is for, ie, to allow MDM DSC combined with Sport+ drive settings.

I'm specifically talking about how DSC reacts while in Sport+. I haven't confirmed that DSC acts the same in the 'secret burble mode'.

Seems like sport setting would be more appropriate.
