Found a new feature today: kickdown

Whilst driving today I found a new feature.

Driving at 50mph in 6th I had my foot flat down and pulled the downshift paddle. Instead of dropping to 4th it went to 2nd.

Checking the manual this is a feature ... I love it! Really throws you back In your seat!

Yeah if you floor it and then click down a gear in DCT it will automatically select the optimal gear. It's a decent feature if you want to quickly accelerate... just be careful not to be caught out by it. I've put my foot down and downshifted before with the intention of only dropping a gear or two and end up dropping 4 and having the back step out a little

Are you talking about the kickdown feature where you go past the resistance point at full throttle? Were you in manual mode at the time?

Yeah in manual mode. Knew about the feature in auto mode but didn't realise it existed whilst in manual mode.

ok, so in manual mode, do kickdown and pull lever to get the lowest possible gear? I'll try that
