I'd at least let the guy know, even if you don't want compensation. The fact that he isn't putting some towels down on the seats on a $90k car isn't bueno.

This is why some part of me doesn't even care about doing PPF or anything where a non-dealer touches my car during warranty. No one loves my car as much as me, stuff like this is a reminder.

This is why good installers cost more. It's not just someone scamming you. The extra cost for a good PPF/Tint/Wrap installer is typically worth it for this reason. It's not worth it to save money and go with the cheaper installer, unless you're willing to take the risk.

If you're really scared about it, most dealers have PPF/Tint installers that they work with, and you can arrange it entirely through the dealer. This way if the installer fucks your car up, the dealer will be on the hook to fix it.

I didn't go cheap on the install. It was a nice detail shop that also does PPF, ceramic, etc. there was a 911 being done right next to my car and a couple Tesla's waiting to be done.

There is a 10-20% chance that it wasn't the tint installer, even if it was it likely was a fluke.

I really just posted this to vent to fellow enthusiasts that would feel my pain and hopefully to find a solution to fix the scratched leather. I'll do some research on the links provided. Much appreciated.

I don't know of a tint place near me that I trust so I'm skipping tint, and thankfully I like the look of MB without tint. For PPF however there is a detailer that I know and trust near by. I think if you go to a PPF installer that is also a respected detailer, they are likely to be very careful with your car.

Ugh and I take my car in for tint on Tuesday. I feel confident about my shop, seems this shop didn't take enough care in prepping the job right.

They wear shit on their utility belts ALL the time. I always get surprised when I see some of these shop workers with their rings and other jewelery on that can most definetely scratch the surfaces they are working on. Honestly, I bet just the spray bottle along with the sharp plastic edge dangling on their utility belt could cause that.

Tell them: "No towels = No tint".

The location of this really makes me think it was your tint guy.

Tell'em "If it's not on, it's not on"

Ask your dealer who they use to do leather repairs. They do great work and I bet you won't notice it afterwards.
