I see why they exhaust looks like that, its part of the aero. I suppose ppl will make big diffuser kits. I hope its more hidden on the M3.

I can't - but I can tell you I opened and closed the trunk and it's LIGHT - BMW uses special support struts because the stock ones would rip the thing right off.

Yep! 100% agree! Way to fucking much $$$

BMW just raking in the dollars from all these people who live for this stuff.

Question is....does it really make any noticeable amount of performance difference to the typical enthusiast????? 🤔

Not talking to you track guys that are counting in fractions of a second. But, then even still, is dropping this kind of money worth 1 second in your time? Does it even really matter?
I don't think MOST track guys are going to waste money on CF hood. The money would be better spent on brakes and tires and fees. I've rarely seen competition tier or higher show up. Track rats and base M cars. Really if they were smart they'd offer this on the 235is where people are trying to play catch up to the M2.

This whole gimmick is designed for rich foreigners who are too easily parted with their money. BMW actually races the M240i, M6 and M8, and none of them even have this CF stuff. Stripped interiors and a roll cage.

I suppose someone with rediculous amounts of money who wanted a slightly lighter weight M2 without having to give up the interior comfort would see this as a good choice.

Umm.... what? The M6 and M8 GTE are made of a ton of carbon fiber.... the M8 GTE's is like over 60% carbon fiber. What the hell are you talking about?

Actually it's banned for most of the car unless the road version is carbon fiber as well. WEC didn't want a Porsche Indy 500 scenario.

i3 could race full carbon fiber at Le Mans though haha.

The carbon fiber hood looks fine but the carbon fiber quarter panels look stupid.

An $80K M2 or (if you shop hard enough) a deeply almost $30K off M3 CS for $80K. M3 CS all day, but the choice lays with buyer. More power to him/her.
M3CS is an automatic...not even worth it at 80k.

Mine has 50 miles on it and the stance is like in the picture since collection and I'm on stock suspensions... it sounds like they might have not removed the transportation block from your suspensions.

On topic, does anyone know if the boot door is now available in Europe as well? It wouldn't seem so, I'm so jealous, me want!

There’s an amazing concept called exchange rates. I happen to love this as 50% of my income is from the US and about 5% from AU. You can google it.

Carbon colored body parts on a light color car look ugly. They change the lines of the car. That square black hood is just standing out. All panels shd be painted or on a black car without paint.

If we really think about it, is it really worth paying close to 80k or more for a small 2 dr coupe?? I was debating this myself before pulling the trigger.. I ended up picking up a 17' M3 Comp... at the same time I was debating on getting the m4 GTS. but with the mods done on the F80,
- carbon compound wheels
- m performance wing
- m performance exhaust system
- m suspension
- display steering wheel

Still came to a price tag of 70k...

80k for a two door couple with a small engine is just plain crazy...I'm 6'3" that's a 3 seat go cart. But to eachs own!
