Interesting experience at my end since the BBS FI-R rims have gone on the car. The weight difference is noticeable and I never thought it would be. I had a talk with an engineer from BBS and we dived into the specifics.
The 5kg I saved off per wheel by fitting the FI-R's really has made a difference at high speeds. I drove the autobahn yesterday and on the first few pulls I was amazed about the more ease of putting down the power and easy way in which I could reach Vmax, as if there was less mass to carry around. The different is tiny, not major, but especially at speeds over 210 km/h you feel a difference which I haven't felt before with a car. I have never shaved off 5 kgs from a wheel which is about 33% or so, and since it is unsprung mass the impact is bigger, according to BBS's calculations. Interesting experience. It is not as if you have more power, it is just the same but more fluid, less effort and easier acceleration through corners on the autobahn. It is like running at the same momentum, but it requires less force to do it. (I hope you understand what I mean) MR |

5kg per wheel? that's 44lbs. are your sure that number is correct? i thought they were ~3-4lbs per wheel, not kg?

We got our cars about the same time and it's crazy to see the difference. I live in a pool of regret and you're out living the dream with yours. Loved catching up and reading through the thread. Hope all is well.

Since Litchfield doesn't sell this to S55 owners overseas, would appreciate some feedback. BTW, the member Ghassan whose car with VTT spline lock that didn't hold up wasn't running a crank hub catch bolt. |

Litchfield will sell the bolt catch. I'm in Texas, and they offered to sell it to me when I messaged them. it's just a shame I have no worth a fuck shop in Austin to have it installed. |

We actually have a competent shop that can install it in GTA (another GTR specialist) but I believe LF blog says the CBC even requires a special tool to install. Furthermore, the LF Rep I was in discussion with doesn't seem to have any instructions to offer. I was hoping they have torque specs at very least. Can someone local in UK find out additional details for us. Wish Ian was accessible on this forum. MR, if and when you do get this installed please keep us posted and provide any additional feedback here. Last edited by FreeDarko; 06-24-2019 at 03:21 PM.. |

Litchfield Rep stated there are no instructions for the CBC. Would you be able to assist in getting some details directly. I shot Litchfield another email as I know many here will be interested in this product over others in the market simply due to their reputation. |
