If it is an HEA car they will not ship to another dealer. I ran into the same issue, but of course you can ship at your expense.

I'm flying to TX to drive mine 1500 miles back to NC...

Talked to my dealer yesterday and today. They told me that the regional reps were in Vegas earlier this week and so more information should be available by end of week. They also said that the "hold" on the car had been lifted. They expect that the car will ship from port to dealer on 4/10 (Sunday, so not sure about that) and it would take one or two days to arrive plus whatever prep they do which would mean it would be ready for pickup 4/16.

I don't understand. These cars arrived after mine and they're already at the dealerships further from port than mine!!!

If they are trying to time them then it does make sense that vehicles that are from further than port would leave before yours that will take a shorter time for shipping from port to dealer.

As far as why yours arrived sooner.... Why does it really matter ?

Methinks one has lost the forest for the trees

" I want I want I want I want "

the release date still remains the same...

Yes, I'm too far gone now. It's more paranoia than anything. If the dealer screws me over, I won't be getting into another BMW again. So in my head, I just want the car to get here already so I can be certain it's finally mine or move on. Plus my first world problem of being carless for the last month. The release date no longer matters as there are members taking delivery by this weekend.

Just saw that ... ! We shall see. Some dealers prep slower than others.

Speaking of which... When I was waiting for my car to come in from ED I received notice it would be in port and perhaps I could get the car at OFEST 2011.

Dealer in South Carolina and OFEST in Birmingham. I skipped PCD and said deliver it ASAP. I was told the car would be at the dealer on the Monday of the week of OFEST.

I committed and caught a ride with a friend from Texas to Birmingham on Sunday and called my dealer daily from Monday. On Tuesday it hadn't even arrived. It finally arrived on Wednesday and I was like cool I'll come now ! They insisted on dealer prep ( mind you it had already been delivered to me in Germany so who cares ! )

They finally said on Thursday afternoon that you can come get it Saturday. I caught a taxi from a bus station at 3am Saturday and arrived in South Carolina at 11am and got the car and drove it back to Birmingham. I Got to drive on track one day at OFEST on Sunday and then on Monday took it for an oil change to the dealer in Birmingham for my 1200 mile service.

They hadn't even seen a 1M as their only allocation had sold to a person who arranged for transport out of state and I received my car in the US in October

So.. If ones car is arriving in April...

I'm at my dealer now finalizing paperwork. Looks like they came in early to start prepping the car since it arrived late yesterday.
