Looking for Cup2 Connects... any suggestions?

I need 255/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear. Tire rack is on indefinite backorder (several months at least).

Any other suggestions? I've tried Discount Tire, but they're not sure they can get.

TIA--

R.

Costco carries larger sizes of the 240, but they are in and out all the time.

Edit 255/35/19 in stock right now. $366.99ea. That's a good price RE71RS $$313ea

275/35/19 463.99ea and showing in stock RE71RS 370.99

Bridgestone doing the $150 off 4 tires so you could get a set of 71RS for about $1200 installed before tax

Costco doesn't carry the Cup2 Connect. Not interested in the RE71's-- not sure they'd even fit. (conical MP-S springs in front--- the Michelin MP4S and Cup2 Connect are the only two tires I've tested with the Apex wheels). That, and I really like the way the Cup2 Connects feel.

I mean, if I need to show you my receipt for cup 2 connects from Costco I can? Its not like I imagined them swapping my track connect sensors from what set to the next.

That's weird-- maybe it's regional?

I stopped by last week and the guy behind the computer said that they couldn't get them.

And I just looked on the website with my zip code, and they didn't show up either.

I'll play around a little bit more.

Thanks--

I had to go back k 5 times to get the counter guys to recognize they were connects. Initially they were not even labeled as 240. It wasn't until you dive into the description that it mentions "connect". Now all the connect tires show cup 2 240.

Granted the 255 may not be star spec. The stock sizes say BMW original equipment. The 255s do not. 275s do say BMW original equipment.

Maybe they can get them here since close to Michelin plant

Stopped by the Costco tire guy again-- 275/35/19 Cup2 Connects are discontinued as per their computer. Go figure. He showed me the screen, so I can't really argue that.

Yeah, they constantly go in and out. And every time they come back it's a different part number.

I haven't used it, but my Costco person said there is no tire mileage pro rate if something happens to them. It's full replacement. I can only imagine this is a loophole because the expected mileage is so short.

Edit: they not available now for me either. When I try to add them to my cart there is a webpage error. Item # 1577053

Costco actually installed them for you? They were being real assholes about mounting 255/275 as the door sticker says 245/265 and "we can only mount the sizes the sticker says". It was some liability bs. Told them I'd sign a waiver as I know for a fact they fit but they still refused

I thought you mentioned knowledge of the connect feature going away for some new design? Perhaps this (indefinite backorder on some at TR) is just a sign of that transition coming?

Dec 2023 Track Connect is going away. You are right, they could be out of production. MAybe they'll updated it to not have the sensor holder. or just call it the cup2 240. A smarter way to do it would be to have a sensor in the tire like a connect sensor and have it communicate with the TPMS sensor. Really great if they had multiple sensors across the face of the tire (outer, middle, inner).

Heads up I had two order two new 245 cup2 connects through Costco today. They were not available online, but they could order them directly through Michelin. Guy said they've been in the process recently of migrating to a new system that has created some issues finding tires due to a lack of description in the new system. Another tip he give. If they aren't online they might be available directly at the counter. If not available at your Costco, then check the website. Availability seems to bounce between online and in store. Thumbs up to Costco. More on this later.

I had rear star spec DT1 OEM size cup 2s installed at the dealer. They rated $480 ea for the rears. Will be installing OEM fronts next week
