UK Delivery Delays!
I was just called by the dealership who have stated that everyones orders will be delayed by factory for 10 weeks.
Anyone else had this delay? It was expected to be delivered in early July now its way into September. |

I bloody well hope not!!. I'm already pissed that I ordered on the first day(deposit down May15)and was not expecting mine till September (week 36). That would make my delivery mid to late November .
I better call my dealer, because if this is true I may seriously consider getting something else. |

I had a similar type of call last month stating that my build week had been put back a " few " weeks, the dealer hinting it may be a month tops !
This makes for frustrating times I've got to say when it seems everybody else is getting one.So that's the Summer over with and approaching the front end of Winter again How does this account for the people in the UK that are having their's delivered and have had delivered as we speak ? |

I was 6th on a dealer list since October and got told in January I won't get a car in 2016, they are getting 3 cars but not till September at the earliest. I then immediately tracked down a demo car that I am collecting this week, although it has been sitting there for nearly 3 weeks.

Probably a silly question but if I ordered one at the end of the year does anyone know roughly how long I'd have to wait?

Wow!! this is just crazy..I actually ended up ringing my local dealer and they said they've got 4 orders and that's their allocation and they don't know when they will ever get a demo in. I was like so how can i order a car without seeing what colour i want!?!? he replied yeah i know.... Looks like i will have to travel to London or something to see one. crazy...

It's almost like they forgot our American friends have only recently been able to order and they thought 'bugger, we'll have to push back those Brits that ordered on launch week!' I really hope mine isn't delayed long (currently expecting end of June)

Got a while to wait for mine but I hope it's not delayed. If it arrives after April 2017 the road tax is a LOT higher for the 1st five years. Would you really put up with that? I'm not so sure.

BMW sure is taking the not-limited-but-incredibly-hard-to-get approach to heart. |

Mine went 8200 (Release to Carrier) on Saturday. It's production & delivery dates have not moved more than a week since November.
It seems odd that BMW could precisely schedule and then hit my cars production dates 5-months out, yet are now moving other people's deliveries by 2-months. Did any of you get screenshots from your dealers showing the production/delivery dates of your cars? If not, maybe they were telling you porky pies. |

Edit: I award you 1,000 Internet bonus points for use of cockney rhyme. I don't know how to do it, but I understand (and love) it.

Could I just ask how you check on your order status. I have been desperately trying to find a way to check online like our (lucky) American friends can, but it seems UK orders can only be checked by calling your dealer or the BMW helpline. I don't wanna harrass the dealer and am (was?) expecting my M2 in July. Cheers, Chris

If there's another way, I'd love to hear it too. This is all I have ever been able to see online. Edit: to be more clear... "Order accepted", "production begins", "production ends", "en route to us", "finishing touches", "at your dealer".

Cheers. I saw you guys have a 'track order' on your BMW page and assumed it gave you useful info. I even tried using MY order number but no joy.
Guess I'll keep harassing my dealer then. Am already counting the days and really hoping my car isn't delayed. Edit: Cheers - even that much info would be really useful - doubt my dealer will keep me update without me nagging. I haven't even got my VIN yet. |

Mine is a 7 digit official ORDER number from my BMW order sheet. I even tried setting up a USA BMW account (using a Zip Code I found) but the US system won't accept my UK number. I see what you mean as it is asking for VIN or PRODUCTION number.

I've attached the most recent version below, but I've got ones going back to November and there's only been a week of movement in the dates in that time. I can't see why you can't get the same if you're in the UK. The US seems like a very, very screwed up system of dealer allocations by month, but I guess the market is about 5x larger than the UK... |
