Finished 3rd overall. Respectable I'd say considering the competition.
Impressive indeed!

Drove the latest 911. It feels so rock solid on track but is out of reach of my pocketbook. I don't see how it could ever reach its potential street-driving. It belongs on the track.

C&D doesn’t like M2 nearly enough....

I find it interesting how different the results can be between magazines. They can’t all be right.

I always subscribe to Motor Trend for Best Drivers' Car Week. Love it.

What happened in the hot lap was this:

Randy: "I'm a little bit let down. I'm let down by the brakes. They got kinda hot. Actually got knock back in the corkscrew."

The M2C was ahead of the Supra until this. Pobst is an unbelievable driver. I don't think any mortal would experience this.

Even so, dodgy brakes aside, a lap time of 1:40.83 is faster than a Cayman S 981 and a Cayman R 987.

Too bad the C8 wasn’t eligible yet, bet it would have taken #1.

So this pretty well confirms the brake issues Car & Driver had. I don't recall any complaints about the OG M2 brakes and I don't understand why the new brakes are having these issues. The M2C is heavier but the brakes are also larger so you would think the extra weight would be offset.

Combined with the fact the M2C actually has brake ducts now. Strange. In my short drive after I picked mine up I almost put my head through the windshield a few times the bite is so good.

C&D generally adores the M2. I don't know why they got so hypercritical in that recent comparison test.

Look at the final scoring though. First and last place were only 5 points apart on their scoring scale.

No way the 850 should have finished that high. It's a heavy boat with sloppy steering. It's a pure grand tourer.

The bite is almost too good on track. Its hard to be smooth. Also under threshold braking the rear gets light enough to cause a bit of an uneven feel. It didn't seem to enough to be a problem and didn't hurt stopping distances. My friend notices the same thing with his M2C.

this isn't officially Motor Trend, but it is Randy Caning an M2C around willow and talking about it. He mentions the brake pedal gets a little long.

Now that wasn't a problem for either of us after a full weekend at VIR. And I know my friend was driving his pretty hard.

Same lol. Especially the first drive.

I still look like a tool trying to come to a slow stop smoothly. The little automatic surge of acceleration (DCT) right as you stop doesnt help. What the heck is that??
