It's really funny, but effectively the M2CS is to the M2C the way a Cayman GTS is to a Cayman. You get a bunch of the most popular features in a bundle at a slight discount (including adaptive suspension which you can't get on the M2C), plus some extra HP thrown in for good measure. Seems like good value for money to me, if you like the options BMW is bundling into the CS.

How come when I visit Rennlist I don't see 8,342 posts screaming about how "Porsche has screwed the pooch on this one. Cayman GTS is just a Cayman with some carbon fiber bits bolted on"? Or "Why the hell would anybody pay that premium when you can just get after market tune and carbon bits for a lower price"? Or "Anybody who would buy a Cayman GTS is a complete idiot"?

I get that everyone's got their own definition as to what "good value" is, but... damn! You read through some of these posts and if I didn't know any better, I would think that with the release of the M2CS, BMW has also decided to bomb forum members' ancestral homelands and murder forum members' pets.

Somebody else said it earlier, can't remember exact wording, but effectively sentiment was "Why are you so angry about the car? If you don't like it and don't think it's good value... don't buy it!"
Your latter sentiment is exactly how I feel about those complaining about the new G8X. If it's not for you, there are dozens of other options within the segment.

Seriously, I really liked the cs in person! Loved it!!!

So I got down on my knees... and saw the exhaust.

Would have paid even more for another muffler.

The M2 Racecar is the real bargain. Caged, DCT, race prepped. Seriously, I don't need a daily, I need a track car.

The US price model is just so different to the UK. It's a really hard sell here I'm sure at £75k.

If I was stateside afraid to say I'd likely be onto a GT500/350 or the C8. None of them are available here and we get the flip side.

US pricing seems spot on what most people were thinking it might be. Would be crazy money if mark up pushes them into $90k territory, ouch.

Really pleased for those that have waited so patiently and are following through. Would be a fantastic 6MT track and street car to hold onto for quite some time. Perhaps a car that might not have a follow up next generation...or at least not without battery boosting or super blown turbo 2L.

Best incarnation of a BMW the modern era can allow? Most likely.

Whoever buys this car thinking it's the next 1M will get hosed. Sure the M2 is more exclusive than the M3, and depreciates less, but that's only because it's cheaper, or was in this case. I really like the CS here and think it looks great, but almost 85K BASE translates to 100K+ territory after tax, fees and options.

Keep in mind the exclusivity will be between you, a couple of other random guys that actually know what it is, and this forum. To everyone else you'll look like a wannabe racer (unjustified, but, people are ignorant) that overpaid for a two series.

If this is your cup of tea, by all means go for it. It's an amazing looking car with tasteful mods. But do not think that it won't depreciate like any other M2.

I would personally check out a 991 GTS CPO in this price range, but to each their own.

Not really going to react yet to a number that’s unconfirmed. But if it’s true, it’s a similar price point to other series’ base vs CS. So it would make sense.

I think the pricing is fairly strategic and fills a gap. That price is below the price of a GT4 or a base 911.

Ouch ! Still here. I wanted an M2 GTS/CSL at this price .. not an M2 CS..

Seriously MY THOUGHT as well. The changes to the M2 racing and the fact that it is priced the same vs the M2C in Europe , at $85K an M2 racing is actually A far better bargain than driving an M2 CS street car on the track for the same price.

And I do hold a racing license... and not planning a Porsche in my future.

agreed...

Personally, I'd rather own the CS than a base 911. The GT4/Spyder delta is $20k+ as Porsche options add up very quickly.

Correct, with limited allocation, I'm sure centers will add a "Market Adjustment" to the MRSP that will push the price into $90k range. Unless BMWNA uses a lottery system when the M4 GTS was sold. I highly doubt the M2 CS will be sold at MRSP otherwise.

Production and Delivery estimates seem unchanged but likely sooner from what they were saying.
Thanks for the information. Who is your source for this?

Agreed. Base 911 carrera is now $98K. Base GT4 is $100K. Both Porsche cars have tons of options so probably another $20K or more when factoring options.

At $83K base and limited options the CS is a bargain compared to a 911 or GT4. This is a comparison of new cars only. Used cars are hit or miss.

Iíve only driven a TTS and while there are great things about it, itís also fairly pedestrian. I honestly donít think adding another 100hp would help it be a better car. Yes t has terrific performance metrics but for whatever reason, is not a thrilling car to drive....like many Audis nowadays.

You could do a GTS too. Gets you that much closer to GT4 performance.

GTS base is over $120k. Properly optioned is over $130k.
