I'm interested!

Track/S where did you land on with the rotors to support the custom 2NH caliper brackets. Is there a off the shelf paragon (or other) rotor that will support your caliper bracket? If so could you please provide a part number or link.

I see medphysdave had paragon custom make a set of rotors utilizing a 2NH hat with a 380mm paragon ring etc, however didn't see anything else in the thread.

I'll respond. As a reminder, Girodisc can have a fully assembled custom hat and ring ready to ship in 3-4 weeks. They just need a total of 5 commitments to justify the offering.

PM me if interested. I think you might be 4th assuming the others haven't flaked. $1300.

Paragon makes the 380x36 discs on request, you just have to contact them, also D_SheerDrivingPleasure is making a joint purchase with Girodisc, if you are interested, contact him

Good news. Girodisc will be making the 380x36 rotor for the 2NH.

As previously noted, they will be priced the same as the standard rotors ($1300/pair) and will use off-the-shelf rings (D1-282) for future ring replacements ($900/pair). The rotor will be ready within 3-4 weeks (likely closer to 3 weeks since this is a simple design alteration).

International shipping will not be an issue, however, the customers would be paying the standard duties for import on their end like any other imported product. (Feel free to PM me about this).

Please email robin.adrianse@girodisc.com to place your order or with questions.

These are very good rotors.

Great to hear. Do you know if they already make the 2nh rear size? I plan to upgrade the rears at some point.

Maybe contact bimmerworld to see if they would be interested in putting some into inventory. That would be nice if we could get a reliable distributor.

Bimmerworld confirms they have the 380mm G80 Girodisc ring as a common stock item they carry. So no issues there!

I received my custom Girodisc rotors that are compatible with the 2NH brakes and brackets from Track/S. Very happy that Girodisc was willing to make these.

The lug holes are spec’d at 16.6mm for the M14 hardware on the F8X cars. This is the same dimension as Girodisc's regular F8X hats.

Good to know, the studs of m4 gt4/m2 csr would fit.

Hi all, excellent thread.

I am looking to run this setup for 18 inch wheels.

Can somebody please provide a link where I can purchase the correct (either Paragon or Girodisc) front 380x36mm brakes?

Can I use the standard 2NH pads with this setup or do I also need to purchase pads?

Also, is any other hardware etc. required to fit?

Track/S I have sent you a PM to order the custom brackets.

Email girodisc to place the order since the front rotor isn't listed on the website.

robin.adrianse@girodisc.com

You can use standard brake pads.

Brackets and rotors.

Thanks.

I have emailed both Paragon and Girodisc for a quote on a pair of the 380x36mm discs, shipped to me.

The Girodiscs look amazing, but has anybody actually completed the swap and can confirm that they fit with the 2NH caliper ? Or should I just stick to Paragon?

Also, how easy is it to fit the brackets and new discs? Is it simple plug and play? Or do I need to alter anything else?

Finally, i assume, there is no clearance issue on the rear 2NH caliper with 18s? Or is further modification required on the rear?

Many thanks

I haven't installed mine yet but I highly doubt you'll have a fitment issue with the Giros.

The rear brakes will clear 18s without any modification.

It's plug and play. You can reuse all the caliper bracket bolts.

Thank you very much.

Final question(s) before I pull the trigger.

1. Paragon replied. The front 380x36mm custom discs are $1350 delivered to me.

2. Oleg custom brackets are approx. ~$380 delivered to me.

So will cost me roughly $1800 (excluding fitting) to run this setup to accommodate 18 inch wheels.

Or should I just bite the bullet and spend ~$4000 on an AP racing front brake set up?

Will cost me ~$2200 more but that will keep my 2NH calipers, discs and pads fresh - If I ever want to revert to stock.

Does anybody have any experience in actually running this 2nh setup vs. an AP racing bbk setup?

Is the AP setup worth ~$2200 more?

Thanks

I've kept the 2nh caliper and run the brackets. A negative of the 2nh caliper is it has to be removed to swap pads. It's not hard, but is a pain compared to the rears. For me it would come down to how often I was swapping pads. If was once a month I might opt to upgrade the front calipers. For me it's two swaps if I go to track or mountain runs. The caliper bracket bolts are supposed to be single use, but I reuse them.

How often do you track?

When you go 18's with the AP's you save a ton of unsprung weight. I ran the Essex/AP front and rear on my 1M and it's the best thing ever. It's by far the best mod I've ever done to any car. I'm converting them now to the M2, and I'll be getting the backets from Track/S as soon as I secure the rear rotors.

I've never tracked with the 2NH. I'm sure they are fantastic. However, for me whenever I see dust seals I immediately know they will not last on track and I'll have to rebuild them sooner or later. I track about 2x/month.
