$6-700 to paint (I haven't gotten the bill yet). Same with the PPF, it's $6-700, haven't had it done yet, that's just an estimate. I also got a bit of a deal on the hood because I'm taking some professional pictures for Suvneer.

Hood:$1250 (retail)
Springs/Struts: $165 (getbmwparts)
Paint: $700 (local)
PPF: $700 (local)
Total: $2,815
god damn that's a lot😭 I thought I'd be looking at like $1500. did you get the carbon hood ? I thought the aluminum hood was like $900. alsoF couldn't you use the struts and hood pins off the OEM hood ?

The aluminum hood is $900 + $350ish shipping.
Then comes the paint.
And if you're smart, the PPF...
And yes, it's much lighter, 25 lbs vs 37, so to close properly it needs struts and springs from a CS.

You don't even want to get into the cost of a real CS hood, trust me.

But yes, gotta' pay to play, and I always do my stuff right.

What I did was ask myself the question; is there any other car I'd rather have for $50K? The answer was "no." I went all the way up to $100K, and the answer was the same. So then I decided to buy the expensive bits that I thought would make the car complete (red 2NH brakes, FI-R's, Remus exhaust, and the GTS hood). I have $85K in my M2 and I'm quite happy with it, but I can't wait to get that hood on!

yea you definitely have one of the cleanest M2 builds for the OG. I spent a lot on performance and slowly trying to get into cosmetics. I think I honestly might just skip the hood though and go with aftermarket headlights. I'm kinda fixated on BavGruppe and bring it over to a verified installer. then maybe get some front and side winglets to complete the aero. also, I'm still looking to upgrade to LCI taillights and get the interior carbon trims for the gear shifter and e-brake

No pro pix as of yet, but I thought I'd give my review of the Suvneer GTS hood.

Pros:
- It looks like it belongs on the car, as in it fits the body lines better than the OEM hood IMO.
- It adds muscularity to an already muscular car, much like wider tires or the stubby CS rear spoiler.
- It's half the weight of the stock hood.
- My body-shop told me that it was definitely in the top 15% with regards to quality, but guessed it at $600 MSRP. They don't know about BMW tax, and flipped when I told them what I paid for it.

Cons:
- It's expensive. With paint, the correct struts/springs and PPF you're going to be near $3K.
- Fitment won't be perfect no matter what you do. It's true that even the stock hood fitment looks weird in spots, but the Suvneer hood won't get anywhere near that. You will have high edges, low edges, and your gaps won't be consistent. Let's just say it doesn't look like it was engineered by Germans.
- Your chances of the paint matching your fenders is good, but matching the front bumper cover is quite hard (they are always different). Unless your shop will mix 2 different colors for the side and front, it just is what it is.
- The hood insert is very cheap, the plastic looks crazed, and there is an obvious spot on the top where they removed it from the manufacturing "tree." Suvneer is going to try to help me with this, but I suspect I'll have to buy an OEM replacement, making the hood even more expensive.

If you're a stickler about the details as I am I'd recommend you skip it. It's cool, no doubt, but IMO not worth what it costs. Now, if you're not OCD about fitmet, don't care about cost, are planning to have the front bumper cover and fenders blended, and aren't installing PPF, your experience will probably be fantastic .

A few phone pix.

There is a nice carbon one available, but it's as expensive as good drugs, and I'm already DEEP in this hood.

Another thing for those to consider with getting the Suvneer hood is that it comes with an unpainted insert, so you either have to get it painted, or buy an OEM one for $140. The insert provided leaves much to be desired.

you weren't kidding, that insert looks trash. Fitment looks pretty damn good from the pictures but of course irl may be different.

3k is a lot of this but it does look nice, I am trying to find one that already has been hit with the 2nd hand depreciation and in the right color

I think it's a good value for sure, but I definitely need the OEM insert.

does anyone know if the eBay ones are the same as Suvneer ? I got quoted $750 for an aluminum one, shipping from California with free shipping insurance. I'm assuming all of the hoods are the same thing and Suvneer is just doing a resell

It's rumored that they all come from the same place, but then again, I've heard horror stories, so I got mine from Suvneer. To me a few hundred dollars isn't much to spend to make sure it's right. But I also try to buy as little as possible from ebay, and consider it the trash of the selling world.
