Hello

I can't stand looking at the standard exhaust came with the car. I know some of you had paint it black

Looking to see if anyone has any experienced with DINAN exhaust. Dinan just came out on their website for the m2c for around $2200 plus 2.5 labor hours. I'm not looking for anything too loud.

Thanks in advance

Thats a great price compared to the MPE, and sounds great. I'd do that and save some coin.

Both Car Tender and BMW Seattle are Dinan dealers. If you are a BMWCCA member you will get 10% off the exhaust and labor cost.

My car came with the MPE so I don't have first hand experience of the stock exhaust. The MPE sound is much lower, grumblier, and at times "tinny". The video of the Dinan exhaust sounds like it is more high pitched. I like it. It's hard to make these turbo cars sound good when you are used to naturally aspirated engines.

Do you need to get some code from BMWCAA website as I was thinking of having it shipped and install it at a local exhaust shop?

Thanks

Thank you DanG! You have the best exhaust I have heard yet! I was parked next to you at the last M meet at Griots. If I can get anywhere close to the exhaust sound you have, I will be happy!

Hi Dan G, which exhaust you got.
I have an M Performance M2. As part of the package was an M Performance exhaust with carbon tips.

MPE is a good option for 3 reasons:

- the BMW AG worked on it while choosing the supplier. As a result the sound has been tested many times to make it a good one.
- sooner or later when you sell your car, you will be able to sell your exhaust separately. the M performance exhaust will always keep its value bette than any aftermarket one
- you have OEM part on your car. whatever happens with the car - it is an OEM part!

I'd be interested in the perspective of MPE owners. From the pictures, it seems this exhaust hangs almost as low as the standard exhaust, but looks better with the polished can and the "M Performance" logo. From the (limited) photos I have seen of the new Dinan exhaust, it does seem to be more flush with the rear diffuser.

After analyzing both exhaust pipes, I think you are right about DINAN sit more flush than the MPE. Good observation and This help me decided to go with Dinan. Thanks

The MPE exhaust is way to much for what it is and it still shows itself too much. If you're going to get that spendy just get the Akropovic. Otherwise the Dinan makes the most sense, looks and sounds good.

+1 for Dinan

Get it from a forum vendor instead of going direct, you'll save money

Before I purchased my car I was tempted by a stick M2 in HS with the MPE exhaust and while it sounds great. I personally think from the videos the Dinan sounds just as good for a lot less.
