It appears the car backed into something and broke the pipe at the weld point.

Look at the tip next to it.

Nah I didn't hit anything - that white stuff you see is left over polish from when I was cleaning the tips (I haven't washed this thing in so long lol).

Doesn't surprise me. BMW has a history with their MPEs having issues; e9x v1 had issues cracking too

I'm just hoping BMW honors the warranty on it! I'll probably be driving around with 3 tips until this pandemic is over though haha.

We are in semi lockdown but BMW service has been declared an essential business. They are open for service.

Not sure how it is in Texas (where I live) but I guess that's a good sign considering how bad the pandemic is in WA!

I've been pretty strict with keeping my car as OEM+ as possible but the exhaust was something I just refused to compromise on and I'm glad I went aftermarket. Super unhappy with the quality and design of the MPE. This just adds to the long list of complaints I have about it.

At this point, i'm hoping BMW just replaces it for me so i can just sell it and go aftermarket.

BMW dealerships are fine in TX.

A good friend of mine took delivery of a new x6 on Saturday.

They should replace it. I had a rattle in my exhaust and they replaced the whole muffler, no questions asked.

Yikes. Was it still under warranty though (Car and/or exhaust?). Wondering what they'll do for a car out of warranty.

One that understands that when you pay $3,200 for pipe worth $400, they should really replace it if you have issues. lol

Lol they should, but knowing my dealer they probably would give me a hassle and try to just repair it with crap welding.

It's amazing to me how the BMW experience itself can be so different from dealer to dealer. Luckily I rarely go to the dealer, and when I do, the guy is absolutely cool as hell.
