Got my car protected with xpel and ceramic coated but I also decided to experiment and try blacking out the roof. What say you all?

Yes! I have the exact same car (HS, light colored wheels) and I did it about 3 months ago. Makes it look so much better. I also live in palm beach county lol.. That was the one thing making mine stand out from others around here haha.

I like the look of the black roof to be honest. But it's your car, you do what you like!
Not a huge fan of the (fake) CF roofs. It looks ok from a distance, but when you get close you can tell its a wrap. Id love to have the real deal, but the price tag and the fact they have to open your car up like a tin can is too much for me. |

Looks good to me, but if they had to remove and reinstall the sharkfin, then I'd say no -- there are a few threads in the forum where this lead to wiring damage and leaks. Seems like it's a fragile design. May depend on how good the installer is.

Right now it sticks out a bit but I think if you add some carbon (front lip, mirror caps, spoiler, diffuser) it'll look right at home

I did a black roof but I have more carbon fiber as well which really helps and makes it look better.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I’m on the fence about it myself. I don’t really want to add any carbon fiber to the exterior which probably does make it look better.
One issue I should’ve thought about is that the black shows more dirt and water spots than the rest of the car even though it’s all coated in ceramic. Easy enough to clean, but wouldn’t be an issue if it wasn’t blacked out. The installer did a phenomenal job and he mentioned the issue with removing the antenna so he left it on but you’d never know it by looking at the finished product. I may keep it for a little while to see if it grows on me, but ultimately I’ll probably remove it. |

I had an M6GC with a real carbon roof and most people asked me if it was a wrap even then. |

I really like it, I was thinking of doing a similar thing but with matte CF to match the interior trim.

Looks dope af (as the kids say). It seems like most people that have the M2 are pretty discerning when it comes to mods so all these cars look good.

I am thinking about doing the same. My ppf guy recommended against a gloss black wrapped roof as he said it would scratch and fade. He did say you could spend more and do an actual gloss black tinted ppf which has black adhesive and it would hold up great and look great. Is yours a wrap or the actual tinted ppf?
