if you check one of the vendor's sites, it looks like both split in same place-

https://x-ph.com/m2-n55-1/

EDIT- nevermind...just double checked and if you click on the vrsf one, it actually shows 2 different pics so i dont know which one is the correct one. But one of them looks just like the AA one (as far as split location goes)

The first VRSF picture is the correct one for our car.

My charge pipe popped off at ~33000 miles. Stock (no tune) motor with Akra catted downpipe. Definitely going to upgrade to an aftermarket one.

Just another data point: my charge pipe blew out 2 days ago, on the track
2017 M2 with 20k miles; 17 track days
No tune

Dealer is replacing the pipe under warranty. I'm ordering a metal replacement.

Summer's last day is here. As the weather cools, and the M2 goes into the garage, I need to start planning next year's modifications.

I was looking to install the FTP charge and boost pipe...but their website is down. Anyone know what's up with that?

Anyone in CA know of any CARB legal charge pipes? I'd prefer ER's charge pipes but this state has the dumbest emission rules.

I don't see how any charge pipe would alter emissions.

I don't think they do either but from what i've been reading it's required to be CARB legal in california, which sucks..

Understood but if it doesn't change your emissions, I don't see why it would need to be CARB certified. Different size tires can change your mpg and they don't need CARB certification do they? I'm asking an honest question as I don't know anything about CA law. Some of their laws and rules seem pretty out there.

Honest question as well here:

If you get an OEM matte black charge pipe like VRSF, AA, etc I wouldn't think they'd notice. Why would the be looking at a charge pipe?

When I had my Dinan turbo put on I brought my own charge pipes. The SA said that they'd rather do it then rather than have it come back with a broken stock one later. He said it's very common for them to break.

So is the VRSF good enough or is it worth spending more? I don't care about the looks, I'm not gonna upgrade the turbo and not gonna go crazy with the boost.

I notice some suppliers sell both cold and hot side charge pipes. I do not see many owners changing the hot side. Do you sell both as a set, and how much more effort to install?

Correct the turbo to intercooler charge pipe is only necessary to be upgraded when upgrading turbos.

The install effort depends on what else is being changed with it. We normally recommend changing both pipes at the same time as the intercooler so its all done at once.
