Not only that while risking an EPA fine. Just sayin you're completely posting a double edged sword scenario. Sure you can swap back down pipes but there's always evidence and marks from it going in and out. Sure the ecu flash guys can actually go back to stock file map, quite easier then a down pipe swap may I add. You think the dealer will treat you any different by patting you on the back because you chose a down pipe over a flash? Same scenario, in fact they're more likely to blame a turbo failure especially waste-gate failure in your down pipe. Just sayin. I've seen all the scenarios. Some dealers care some don't. Some call EPA some don't depending on what state you're in. It's all a risk my man...

You really have to pair the two for it to work optimally. What you're seeing is overboost and the car is freaking out and shutting down because the dme is seeing higher then OEM boost t map readings. This is why a piggy back flash alters those parameters so you don't have those issues. The only other thing I can think of only because I've seen it is the DP was installed incorrectly and you're having a serious exhaust/boost leak right at the v band flange. You're dumping exhaust through that leak and the waste gate is trying to dump extra in itself and your car is freaking out. Saw it once on a car. Reinstalled the downpipes and no issues.

I've had my catless DP on for just over 1000km. No tune and no issues with drivability. The A74 cat sim isn't working, but I expected that.

Well, the 240 is making nearly the same numbers. Would not be surprised if tuned versions start to make significantly more.

From their own website: We have a state-of-the-art 4x4 rolling road from DYNOSTAR, which can measure 1341hp with a stunning accuracy of 1%! Because some high-performance engines only deliver their maximum power at high-speed - f.e. BMW V8 M3 - Because of the ram-air effect, we have installed a Rucon System with two fans of 22kW each (total 60hp) that can deliver up to 80,000 m³ / h @ 200 km / h!

I haven't looked around to see if a 3rd party has uploaded one, but I'd like to see a before and after graph of BR's tune with the same correction factor and atmospheric conditions. I think you'll see their difference before and after is very similar and there isn't much additional flow that can be had from the N55 stock turbo. I don't think any tuners have 'magic sauce', ie I'm not saying that BR is rubbish, I just don't think they know how to get a 45hp gain out of the car and Evolve can only manage 20hp. That implies a massive level of difference in expertise, or possibly the willingness to run values a bit closer to extremes. Evolve have definitely been around for a while and have a reputation for making a great reliable tune without having problems. All tunes from all reputable companies should produce similar 60-130 times and I know that Evolve also show those (or similar equivalents) and both before and after 'real' dyno graphs. |

@Brad, I can promise you that BR knows how the game works. They were the first one to crack the ecu of the F models. They have already tuned 2 M2's and ended up with at least +50hp..
I will upload tomorrow the dyno of a M2 which is tuned by BR Performance. |

Since I've been back in the country i.e. the last week the UK weather well has been the UK weather for this time of year. There is a reason why so many people in this country are grumpy most of the time.
And now the car is prepping for the Essen show and has no glass or roof. If conditions are good next Tuesday before the car goes to Germany that will be the only window. |
