But from what I've read here on various threads, there's usually water/fluid used in the tinting process to wet down the interior of the rear window which allows the tint to be moved around/positioned.

When the liquid is squeege'd out, it apparently can flow down into the trunk in a pattern that dumps it into the amp-- causing it to fry. Definitely a problem on the OG/LCI iirc, but I *think* BMW might have installed a small shield in the M2C to prevent this?

Anyhow, if you were to tint, I'd be *seriously* cognizant of the possibility.

Like I said, no personal knowledge, but I ran into it several times doing research while I was waiting for my car and actually made a note of it in my "Good things to know" list.

R.
Thank you Fly.

I think what threw me off is that Fugi showed his door windows; I was not thinking of the rear window, nor did I even know the stereo amp was in the trunk.

P.S. I should have said in my prior post I was 'sincerely' interested, not 'seriously' interested

Now if only one of these sponsors would made something cool like a plug & play aluminum shift knob with a gated boot. It wouldn't be THAT difficult to produce and how cool would that be?

Oh man gated shifter! Other than the fact that potential debris may get lodged in the shift unit, I wonder why automakers have don't have these in their MT cars. In a world where MT is about enhancing driving experience, gated shifters do just that.

Indeed, an endless debate online about 'conditioning treated leather.'

You might find this video and product of interest. The matter of 'conditioning treated leather' comes out at about 2:20 mark, but the entire video is worth a watch.

Will take a look at the video. I do use Leatherique for both my M5 and Z4M coupe. I do the full treatment every 2 years or so. I'm always impressed with the results, although the full treatment is a pain to do.

I agree about the utility of conditioning treated leather. I usually do Vital when the car is brand new, but wanted to use it one more time since it's been about a year.

I've used Leatherique products before, and they are a great choice. I find it more useful for older cars though. And once again, the whole debate about conditioning confuses me a little.

Then there's the whole leather 'coating' thing. I'm not sure I'm ready to jump on that bandwagon yet...

RB

I do not usually do anything to my leather, BUT . . . I was always intrigued by the Leatherique product and finally decided to see what it is all about.

Definitely not a superficial wipe-down product; requires commitment and patience. As you indicate, probably most effective on older leather that needs some rejuvenation.

Regardless, even on the new leather of my 718, Leatherique brought out some 'richness' and 'feel' that made the process quite satisfying.

If I routinely cared for my vehicles I would never use the 'wipe-down' products that CLAIM to clean, condition, etc. Instead, I would simply use a moistened cloth.

Conversely, I do believe in the Letherique 'conditioning' process - as outlined nicely in Esoteric video - which is actually a true cleaning and conditioning process. There is a reason it takes a couple days to complete the Leatherique process. Regardless, I am just not that motivated to engage in the process routinely.

Finally, as with you, I am firmly against the idea of 'coating' leather products.

You're awaiting on a "brand new 2019" that's delayed in delivery. :

There so much wrong with that statement but I'll just let it slide and say congratulations..

Added Dinan exhaust, love it, a great sound for such a great price.

The box fits in the back of SUV, however I think if you take the pieces out, you can probably fit in your trunk with rear seats down

I'm chill....? I was just pointing out that he said Dinan exhaust, and I was under the impression there was only one and maybe you misread his post/just saw his pictures as others often do on here.

We are all helping each other out on here, don't be so sensitive. I make typos/mistakes/unclear statements of my meaning all the time. It's no biggie.
