Horn started to sound like a scooter?!
Suddenly my horn sounds like I drive a scooter; its surprising in the wrong way! I used to have a full sounding horn, but out of nowhere (no life changes, coding, etc), I have half a horn.
Anyone else experience this? |

I think I have seen 2-3 folks here who have had to have horns replaced under warranty, seems like an odd failure because I am sure every BMW uses the same horn system but perhaps they have a supplier quality issue. Not good these days to have any reliability issues with a safety system. Not the biggest deal in the world but a little surprising.

Yes, apparently the "lower" horn needs replacement. 16K miles on the car.
I don't know if its common, but the part was not in stock at the dealer. I consider it a safety feature, as people veer into my lane or move stupidly. |

+1 here w a lame horn. Debating whether to wait till it's totally dead or till warranty is almost up.

Just consider it a partial Stage 1 pseudo BMW "Douche Driver Delete" package.
-Turn signal delete -Horn delete -also includes a flat bill/brimmed cap embroidered with "BRAH" |

I have just noticed this in my 3k car. I was on a cruise and tried to rudely beep the mustang I was up the behind of. At the next stop he asked me when my horn was going to go through puberty

Used my horn for the first time yesterday when a car pulled out in front of me. Wow, couldn't believe how weak and high pitched it sounded, it was embarrassing! Glad it's not the expected sound of the horn (my 135i had a great horn).
Will have the dealer check it out at my next oil change. |
