Using DS1.11 can I still get brake deposit? I'm a pro-driver nor aggressive while driving on track...

I ran the 11’s over the weekend on track pretty hard, no deposits.

Just installed DS2500.

As the pads are bedding in, the break is much softer atm and I will keep you guys posted after a week of bedding in.

When breaking new pads with used rotors the brakes may feel softer for a while due to uneven surfaces but should go away after a full bed-in process.

Thanks, and it's way better after a good B-road run on a Sunday morning.

I can strongly recommend them for bit aggressive road usage!

It will continue to get better until the pads and rotors are fully bedded in.

Just had my DS 1.11s fitted today before track days on Saturday - Sunday and have few questions:

1. The red check brake system light - drive moderately is on - this is normal without pad sensors right? There is no way around it?
2. SA told me that they can damage my calipers in the long run as they have no counterweights (something like that) and they are a bit loose. Is that true?
3. They make noise when reversing - a loud metallic clash, that is normal also right?
4. After the few track days this year I want to go back to an aggressive street pad staying in the family with minimal bedding in so DS2500. Do these come with wear sensors or can sensors be attached to them?

I have to say that in comparison to OEM pads they are amazing. Just followed the Essex bedding procedure and they are neck braking initially and have nice progressive constant feel when heated up. Will see at the track but they are very good already and I even like the noise

1. Did you remove the sensors entirely, i.e. unclip them? I use zip-ties to strap the sensors out of the way, usually to themselves or somewhere on the suspension where travel won't interfere, the sensor is still connected and no lights appear but the sensor wouldn't do anything.
2. I can't say but I thought the counterweights are for reducing squealing and vibration, I don't think they'd have other noticeable effects.
3. Yes, the pads don't have anti-rattle shims and are a bit looser so they will clunk the first time the brakes are applied after any change of direction. It is the pad literally sliding to the top or bottom of the caliper.
4. They wouldn't come with the sensors, sensors are usually bought separate to the pads (usually pretty inexpensive). HP Autosport or anyone that has the DS2500 would need to confirm whether the pads have the cut out for the sensor to slot into.

Thanks for the reply.
Ad 1. My BMW Service Center did the swap and they said they secured them so I thought they attached them to something.
I just checked the stock brake pads an there are 2 sensors attached to them (1 front 1 rear) so maybe they removed them entirely? I dunno how it's exactly set up there. Should these be removed from pads, connected to the socket and then secured?
I have red brake check light on and prompt to set up a visit in a nearby service centre each time I start the car + 2 alerts about front/rear brake pads to be changed.

If you see the sensors and wires hanging off of your original pads, then the dealership didn't secure them (unless they charged you for a new set of sensors and installed those). They just disconnected them from the car leaving an open circuit, which is why you're seeing the red brake check light/prompt.

Remove the sensors from the pads (just take a flat head screwdriver and gently pry up). Connect them to the sockets on the car (inside a little terminal box), and then zip tie them out of the way like tux2005 said.

If you are switching between the few Ferodo compounds, you do not need to bed them in again. That is a plus to stay with the same manufacturer and similar compounds.

So the ds2500 are perfectly fine for a daily driver? I am likely to hit the track maybe 3-4 times a year. I don't really want to change pads tbh

Been on the DS2500 for about 1k miles of daily use. Perfectly fine, I do get a small squeal from time to time. Good bite when cold so no need to warm up.

They are excellent pads for sport to aggressive street use.

You can see the 4663 is on the previous line for the M240i but it also good for the M2 because they use the same calipers.

All the F2x F3x and F8x shares the same front and rear brake pads as long as they are using the sport 4-piston front and 2-piston rear.

The M2 Comp. is different though.

Just to confirm, the correct front part number is then FCP4611 for the "OG" F87 M2?
