I think I will be going to a res version of the EL due to the high rasp in low rpms.

I have bad news

Active already sent out all the midpipe they received. All the orders that have not yet shipped will ship out in 10 days once AA gets a new batch of equal length midpipes

Does anyone have comparison clips for non-res vs res for MPE?

Also, is cutting needed for MPE?

Do we need to order gaskets separately for the install?

I called several shops asking if they would install exhaust systems and all of them said that they do but they can't install the AA midpipe because it's missing secondary cats?

So does everyone just install these on their own? How do you go about lifting the car? Such basic questions, sorry.

Hi all - I'm just in the process of ordering an AA EL midpipe.

Quick question, I'm currently running the Miltek EL OPF back system, I'm thinking I will replace the Miltek EL midpipe and the adjoining OPF OEM system and retain the Miltek backbox/axle back system.

Will the Miltek axle back system fit with AA EL midpipe and has anyone else ran the same set up.

Thanks - J

Not sure who you are calling but call a performance shop that sells exhausts. Basically every aftermarket full exhaust is missing the secondary cats so they have to be installed somewhere if not done at home. Might also want to try smaller independent shops.... not big chains.

Advice from the UK members

For any of my UK friends here, it looks like the military will be sending me to the UK this summer. I'm wondering with my US spec (non OPF) M2C, if I replace my stock midpipe with the AA EL pipe am I going to fail the MOT since AAs pipe removes the secondary cats? My car is a 2019 so I also won't qualify for the yearly MOT exemption for cars less than three years old.

I've already gone to the trouble of coding in my rear fogs and modifying the switch so other than exhaust issues I should be good for the MOT

I'm in the UK, if you remove the OPF and secondary cats you will still pass a UK MOT emissions test. Broadly the emissions standard for the UK does not keep pace with the newer EU regulations (i.e. OPF) so as long as stays within the tolerance set for MOTs (which is quite low) you are fine.

Even with a full decat downpipe set up it's easy enough to find a friendly MOT tester.

Thanks. Yeah they were small local shops that I found in other threads. One of them was an authorized dealer listed on the AA website.

I'll try a few more performance-oriented ones. Thanks for that thread link.

And yes you don't need an MOT until your car is 3 years old
