I will try resonated with stock down pipes and Remus race Axleback. If I don’t like the sound I can use my non resonated connection pipes from my Active Autowerke single mid.

Might as well just put the two together and if you find it too noisy just use the stock mid pipes. This way you don't have to cut anything at first...

I am currently running Active single midpipe with Remus race axleback. The connection pipes from the midpipe to the axleback are the same for the Active equal length and single midpipe.

I wonder if anyone can speak to whether or not one might encounter issues in the future with emissions testing. It seems to me that this pipe does do away with one of the catalytic converters--please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm in the military and could realistically end up taking my car with me to a more restrictive state like California or even to Europe. I'm wondering if my lust for that EL sound might saddle me with some unwanted headaches.

For California it will fail the visual inspection if the car is 4+ years old when brought over from another state. Otherwise if you register before the car turns 4 then you'll have 8 years total of smog exempt.

For Europe you probably can't even drive the car regardless of stock or EL midpipe.They have OPF sensors there so you might need to add more restrictive exhaust than just the cats.

i'm not the type to mix and match. my suggestion would be to go the full AA (hoping they also release their new rear section soon).

i had the full AA signature (mid + rear) before, and the sound was orgasmic! i have no doubt that their new system will also be fantastic!

I'm leaning towards this as well. I haven't heard any in person with the last full AA but I know on e9x it was my favorite by far. Not sure when it'll come out but I'm sure the midpipe will keep me happy for a few months at least.

I'm starting to fall in love with the car again which is nice. I'm sure the midpipe will renew my love affair further.
