After the reveal in Brussels I was having trouble leaving the parking lot... Ticket problem.
A BMW sales person came out to help me (the same guy who was trying to sell me the CS).
Upon hearing my MPE exhaust note, he shouted: "BUT... THATS ILLEGAL!!!"

A M2C sat next to it... quietly...

What do u mean by this?
The base M2 was built with 370hp in mind (in reality some hp more) and a safety margin, with a set-up fine-tuned accordingly for putting the power properly down.

IMHO bumping the N55 engine up to 520hp level with a tune is no longer pushing the envelope, but going out of scope, distorting the set-up balance and causing extra strain for parts.

Mine is with 413hp with around $4000~ish Dinan upgrades... To me, it's pretty hard not to love the OG M2.

Dude, give it up already. You've already dug yourself into a hole that you can't climb out of.

I think you'd have more support in the M3 forum.

Wait, coming from the guy that replied to a post that was more than a few days old and a topic that was already squashed? Buddy are you seriously ok? You have major problems.

Don't look now, but this thread hasn't exactly died yet.

And FWIW, I don't normally come here every day, especially on weekends. So if I don't respond right away, don't take it personally. I'll eventually get to it.

The thread no, but my specific topic yes was pretty much done. No worries about you not responding, even though this was happening during the week so I don't know why you made the comment about the weekends which is irrelevant. Maybe to make yourself feel important?

BTW, cute Audi.

Your specific topic is never done because you're the type of guy that always needs to have the last word.

BTW, the forum doesn't close on weekends. I just don't have the time or desire to read or post here on the weekends.... #busylifestyle

Thanks for the compliment on the Audi. It eats M3s for a light snack.

Brother I honestly think you're an attention whore. We are talking about a topic that I stopped posting about...yet you say I have to have the last word? You are the one that doesn't stop replying back, the proof is in the thread.

Concerning your comment about your Audi...I bet. You don't spank anything. Funny how you hang around BMW forums and talk about a topic on a car you don't have.

M3GymNut, mind your language.

Too bad you're in Miami. If you ever find yourself up in the northeast, I'll be happy to show you my Audi (mostly the taillights) in person.

As for hanging around the M2 forum, I'm considering buying one. Do you own an M2? If not, why are you hanging around the M2 forum? Pot. Kettle. Black.

You're a fun guy. Easy to outwit. But then again, you do make it easy. I still like you though....

Forum fellows, whatever car you drive or don't drive, feel free to comment over here, but please let's keep it respectful. I'm pretty indulgent and can cope with even abrasive comments, but will intervene if the discussion turns toxic.

Im considering the M2CS actually. I have more a reason to be in these forums than you honestly since you dont even own a bmw. Your subconscious screams through your computer screen.

It is too bad you're not local. Would to see you face to face and talk. Let me know if you reconsider since you brought it up.

That's funny...so you and I are here for the same reason. So using your own logic, I have the same reason to be here as you. Funny side note: I do own a BMW (it's interesting that you somehow think that you know what I own and what I don't own), but how would that matter anyway? Does ownership of any vehicle give someone "more" of a reason to be in any forum? Is that the way it works? I think lots of people join and participate in automotive forums to learn about a car they are considering purchasing and interact with people who already own the car. I dunno...seems logical to me.

BTW, for what it's worth, I'm a two-time M3 owner. I lost interest in them when they started getting too big and too heavy. That's one of the reasons I'm considering an M2. It's more like my old M3 and not so much like the bloated M3 today.

I'm not sure if you misread my last comment, but I'll repeat the general point again for you---I live in the northeast. You apparently live in the southeast. There are probably about 1,300 miles between us. That's a lot of driving. If you ever find yourself in the northeast, let me know. I can show you my Audi since you're apparently so interested in it. Sorry, but I don't ever go down south, especially all the way down to Florida. Until then, you'll just have to keep thinking you know something about me and/or my car and we can leave it at that. I'm fine with whatever you want to think if it makes you feel better.

My thoughts:

I'll clarify first that I'd give the M2C an A-/B+ and happily own one, very much enjoyed the experience in one. Currently drive an M5.

-M2 started out with an N55 as opposed to a proper S engine.
-2 series has a cheaper Interior
-despite being smaller it weighs as much as an M4 meaning the marketing saying its sportier is a facade. If you're going to weigh 3600 lbs it's better to spread it out over a longer wheel base and improve handling rather than condense it into a short wheel base canon ball
-BMW sort of made the M2 launch a bit odd. First they said the M235i was the top 2 series, no M2 needed. The customer race program STILL runs M240is over an M2, so there currently is no race program for the 'Motorsport' car. 3/4 runs DTM and GT4 and soon GT3, 5/8 runs GTE/LM. M2 will get a special class M2 RACE but probably not until next gen.
-The 1M is smaller lighter has the 'skunkworks' legendarium and some classic e chassis feautures like hydraulic rack that sort of outshine the vanilla M2.

In short the M3 and M5 have 40 years of prestige and the M2 is the 1Ms fat ugly sister.

It's a fabulous car. The M3/4 is better in all reality at performance. M5/8 as well has more power.

Nobody dislikes the 2ers. They're just common and sort of a cash grab afterthought that was born out of the crazy demand for the 1M and 240i. That's why it weighs as much as an M3. Wasn't designed with an M car in mind you know?

Again, personally, I like them all pretty equally for different reasons. Just answering the op question
