Today I had a great day at the Kakucs-ring. It's a quite small 1 km long track but it still was fun to drive there. Since this was the last trackday for the factory Conti tires i tried to compare how much slide is allowed in Traction and in Sport+ modes each. Practically none in Tracktion mode and just a little in Sport+. Some more would be great! I don't feel myself skilled enough to slide all around with all nannies off, so I prefer to drive with a safety margin but today I felt that a little less intrusion form DCT would be better.
Anyway I liked it very much and will make the videos next week. |

And here are the videos i promised. It's a small track and there are some corners on it where you can induce oversteer. I especially enjoyed turns 3 and 4 where you can go on a single arc. Watch and take Your car to a track. It worths!

On last friday i went to the Euroring again. This was my second occasion on this track and the first run with my new Zestino Gredge 07RS semi slick tires. I can say they performed well. I improved my laptime with 3 seconds compared to the Continental CSC3. On such a short track it is quite a significant difference.

This was the last occasion on the Hungaroring in this year. I improved my laptime on the Zestino semi-slick with 3,5 seconds compared to the Continental CSC3. It was an eventful and funny trackday. I chased some good cars like E36, Golf GTI and Porsche Cayman, there were 2 spins in front of me and there was also a crash in the last session.
POIs: 0:08 Chasing an E36 12:34 2 spins in front of me 13:50 chasing a Golf GTI for a lap 18:40 chasing a hard pushing Cayman 21:55 my best lap (2:12.09) on the Hungaroring so far |

Today i installed the alcantara AC cover. I think it looks much nicer than the original shiny black. Thanks for Bimmer Masterpieces for the great product.

Love the 513m wheels! Do you have any more pictures showing the car from different angles? I also have LBB and just bought a set of these that I won’t be able to install until the spring. Looks great from what I can see!

Really enjoying this thread, your car looks great and you seem to be having a great time with it! It looks like your front windows are tinted? If so, do you do know the percentage? It seems to match the rear windows perfectly!

Yes they really are. There is 35% transparent 3M foil on them. It matches the factory rear tint quite well. |

My newest mod: Black M3/4/2C tailpipes for the exhaust. The slant ending looks much better with the diffuser.
The swap took only 20 minutes. |

Today I installed the FTP Boost and Charge pipes, and the Richter 200 cell sport cat.
It took me 5-6 hours for the FTP pipes because i had to remove more components as i expected. The charge pipe came out upward more easily than i expected however I had to remove the Wagner IC in order to remove the boost pipe towards the bottom. The cat swap was not a tough job, 2-3 hours. It came out easily, even the V-bands popped off quickly. It took more time to swap the O2 sensors and reinstall and align well the V-bands. I did a running check on the Quickjack, it looks like everything is tight and there is no leaking. It took a while but i like to recheck everything and take my time not to break anything. Tomorrow i will do some work with the brakes. Here are the results. |

Yes, some cooling solution was on the schedule.
I replaced the brake fluid and simultaneously installed Stahlbus brake bleeder valves. From now on it will be much easier and faster to flush the brake fluid. Then installed custom brake cooling on the rear and on the front also. Here is the rear. I used the GT3 brake cooling plates which someone used on the front earlier. It fits perfectly on the wishbone. I modified the dust plate a little to make way for the fresh air to the disc. |

For the front it was a bit more difficult and took longer.
I used different items from Revotec. Installed 2 pieces of ducting mount on each side to hold the flexible duct which has 57 mm inner diameter. Installed outlet ducts on the dust plate. I used 4 rivets on each side. I removed portion of the dust plate to provide airflow. On the duct routing i'm trying two version, i'll see which one works better. It's possible that the moving parts will rub the duct. My other concern is the ground clearance as you can see on the last picture. If it's too low then maybe i will order the BPE bottom plate or i'll find an inner routing from the front grill. |
