Cleaning the film on rear fender / quarter panel
I tried to find an answer to this in one of the other threads here but no luck. Apologies if it has been answered elsewhere.
There is a (plastic?) film covering the rear fender / quarter panel. What can / should I use to safely clean that besides soap and water? For example, road tar won't simply wash off. On the painted surfaces of the car I can use polish or wax or even a mild solvent, but I'm worried that if I use anything like that on the plastic film it will discolor it or dissolve the adhesive that holds the film to the body.

I use "PLEXUS" [spray] cleaner/polish for all my plastic and films...works great and does not scratch.
Also Meguiars PLASTX, a cream that does the same. Fills in the pores and seal things nicely. I use it on the 3M bra over front of car, and the Plexiglass windbreaker in our Z4. Hope that helps some. |
