I've tried similar things, issue is they have no reason to drop the mark-up. Regardless it will sell, that's the issue I'm having lol.

Most of their Tellurides are at least MSRP or below, might be worth a try.
Thanks man! I believe I have reached out to them earlier this week when they had a white EX in stock. Most of the GA dealerships I have talked with are marking up around $3k regardless of drivetrain. Where as in PA, it seems they are struggling to sell the FWD models. Hence last I spoke with them they were selling FWD at MSRP. I believe AWD models were being marked up $2-3k.

I think we just need to be patient at this point, doesn't make financial sense to rush in and pay that much extra when I could potentially have the same car for MSRP if I hold off. I say this because the fiance was in a more patient mode yesterday lol, we will see if that holds true through the weekend.

Has she looked at the Hyundai Palisade? I know it doesn't have the rugged looks of the Kia, but being its platform mate, there's a lot to like and could be a good compromise, and I believe Hyundai offers complimentary maintenance for 3/36 that Kia doesn't, and hopefully prices are at or below MSRP.

In time the prices will come down but who knows how quickly, unlikely to be weeks. When comparing the Kia at the price you can get it for to some other vehicle for what you can get them for does it still make sense (actual purchase prices)? Basically a Kia for a few thousand over MSRP to something else a few thousand under MSRP could possibly change the pick.

Have you considered one of the car buying service like Costco or similar? Doesn't seem like much to lose. I used another service many years ago (now I don't buy new) and overall was happy with the decent price and zero hassles/negotiations.

To respond to both of you at the same time, she is a difficult one. We looked at the Palisade as well as the VW Atlas. I really liked the Palisade, but she did not. I thought the Atlas was nice as well, but again she found something she didn't like about it. I feel like it is partially my fault too, prior to meeting me she really didn't care much about her vehicle. And I don't mean to paint her as a really difficult person either because that is not the case (in regards to majority of things), I think she really just has her heart set on this difficult to find package of the telluride. Which has in turn become quite difficult for me lol

OP....
It sounds like your set on Kia....but...
Did you guys consider the Alfa Romeo? I'm getting ready to run to the Alfa Romeo dealership in Scottsdale, AZ with my brother in law to help him out with a Stelvio purchase. It would seem to check all your boxes. I plan to ask them to line up their 3 oldest in inventory for us. They're always more likely to discount deeply on the one's they've been holding onto the longest. If he doesn't like any of the 3, we ask for #4 and move on from there. If it's not something you considered you might take a look. It's year end so you should be able to get a sweet deal on one of them. We will see shortly!

OP's wife wants a bigger car, a Stelvio definitely won't cut it. It was already recommended in OP's previous older thread.

You should see the ADM's on the G-Wagon, they're crazy! Pretty sure all the 21's are sold out, and the 22's are being priced anywhere from $15-75k over sticker!

That’s crazy, especially for something that isn’t bespoke or unique.

Well, it kind of is unique/bespoke, compared to other MB's and luxury SUV's but I do agree, crazy pricing. A friend's parent of my son is already replacing his 2019 G550 for a 22 G63 allocation, he will likely pay $30k+ over MSRP! And that is with loyalty and tons of previous MB's he's owned. They are in hot demand.

This is why they make minivans.

Just get her an F-350 dually extended cab and be done with it.

I know the feeling. My wife went from having a Hyundai Tiburon when we met to 07 X5 4.8i to a 2015 SQ5 then 2017 S6, now she refuses to consider anything with less than 400 hp as we started looking to replace the S6 with something larger. I've created a monster!

We had an E70X5 4.8i, then an E61 535xi wagon (which we still have) and recently went shopping for an SUV to replace the 535xi wagon. We looked at the new X5 M50i, but the V8 has such a bad reputation for reliability that I crossed it off the list. We usually keep cars 10 years, so it would be out of warranty most of our ownership and people complain about the losing use of the car even while it is under warranty due to the number and duration of repairs. We tried an X5 40i MSport, but it just did not drive that well. The B58 engine gets great reviews, though. We ended up driving some Cayennes, a base model, an S model and a GTS model. We bought the S model and think it's fantastic. The Cayenne is the most car--like in terms of handling of any SUV we have driven. Not cheap though and the model is new enough that there are not a lot of used examples and the used ones are not discounted that much from MSRP. We figured that since we like nice cars and keep them a long time that it was worth the money for us.

I have been recommending the Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade to others. There is also now a Genesis G80 that appears to be based on the platform but has the 375 hp twin turbo 6. I need a little fun in the family car since I have to drive it sometimes. Car and Driver tested the Cayenne S at 4.2 to 60 and 109 in the quarter, which is entertaining for an SUV even if it is well short of an AMG or X5M or Cayenne Turbo. I am impressed with this 2.9L twin turbo borrowed from Audi. Maybe I will add a JB4 eventually.

The GV80 was stunning. Price was absurd though, ridiculous mark-up. Had the dealer quote me a base model, mind you MSRP is around $48k. Price came back at $60k. The one we sat in at the dealer was at $75k. It really was stunning though, interior was fantastic. Wish I hadn't let the fiance step foot in it lmao. Directly after looking at that we checked out the Palisade and that is probably the reason it left a bad taste in her mouth.

Bunch of Kia dealerships reaching out this morning. Sounds like they are more willing to negotiate since it is the last day of the year. Going to try to strike a deal, I'll keep everyone posted.

Hit the Alfa dealership yesterday on the Stelvio. Was at the Volvo dealership looking at the XC90, my brother in law has it narrowed down to those 2 at this point. Left both dealerships empty handed, they were trying like hell to play hard ball. We woke up this morning to messages from both dealerships practically begging for him to come back in today. We're heading back out in a bit to pick one of them up.

Now's the time to slay them OP.....good luck with it!

Just an FYI on some of these Kia dealers...

I was assisting shopping a family friend for one, great ride FYI.

They tack on a bunch of dealer installed items (pin strips, paint protection, wheel/tire protection, etc etc....), on top of the market adjustment, and then "slash" $1,000 or $2,000 off the listed price. The reality is that it's still ABOVE MSRP, so definitely try to build on on Kia's website so you can get an idea if its at MSRP or not when internet shopping.

and yes, these things are flying off the shelves, even after the first few months of "hype", they are holding strong in sales.

The only thing I wish it had wireless carplay and maybe a few minor design changes for comfort, but for 40k for a knock off landrover ill take it.

Aren’t you concerned with Alfa’s reliability issues?

Alfa's do have that problem. I could put up with the reliability if they had a good loaner program but I have read too many reports of owners being given fiats and chryslers, not Alfas, as loaners. Since I would anticipate being in the shop given the reliability reviews, the lack of Alfa loaners would turn me off.
