Tired of the jack pad/adapter scenario, what solution have you come up with?

Presumably the jack pads are designed to flex/crush a bit in certain circumstances, and be replaceable if such a thing happens?

I don't like it, it's a PITA, especially with a lowered car.

I've seen guys bond/screw the adapter to the pad, but I don't even like how low the stock pad hangs, let alone adding to it. I saw one guy used rare earth magnets, which seems like a decent solution.

I've also seen some BMW jack pads that are shorter, and I'm thinking if I can fit these I'd just fill the cavity and not use a pad at all.

Your thoughts?

Oh, and please spare me the "that's not safe or the way it was designed." TIA

I use the supplied blocks with my quick jacks that have no special design. I don't see why you could use a big circular hard rubber pad that fits your jack.

At the shop we use a hockey puck on the jack pad. You might want to look into a low profile jack or invest in lightweight race ramps.

This is a potential option: https://www.verus-engineering.com/sh...-3813#attr=636

It's made by verus engineering (super reputable aero company - and their products are top knotch) and essentially puts a solid jacking point on your car. I do not know if it will fit on the m2 though.

I think for the price they can keep them lol.

I think the rare earth magnets are the best solution for me, but thanks for the reply!

Perhaps a small dab of double sided tape on adaptor top would suffice? Eminently cheap and readily available?

Might start doing this for my quickjack. It’s the slowest part of lifting car, the million little ups and downs and alignments.

I would just be careful with rare earths like neodymium if you put any load on them. They are very brittle.

Cool option but if you take your car to a tire shop, dealer or anywhere outside your garage they are going to put the lift arms right on these things and chew the hell out of them. The same design made of rubber at a lower price would be perfect.

Rubber would never hold up, especially to environmental conditions.
